next time, state what the rule actually says instead of just the number. any player can cast instants or activate instant-speed abilities during the upkeep. this is true even if there are no abilities triggering during the upkeep such as Ray of Erasure. so yes, the opponent can cast/activate stuff before you draw your card, and might even be a good idea to do so depending on what they think you might draw, such as a counterspell.

Hello. I'm relatively new to reading and interpreting mtg rules regarding timing and priority. As such, my question is as follows.
If Ray of Erasure resolves on my turn, at the beginning of the next upkeep is a triggered ability added to the stack representing the "Draw a card" action?
If so, does my opponent have an opportunity to cast instants or activated abilities with their newly untapped land, adding to the stack before the "Draw a card" trigger resolves during upkeep?
Thank you for your help in advance! I'm just having a bit of confusion over 116.1.

This was a fun deck to make. I playtested a few times and got a turn 5, two turn 6, and a turn 9 win. This deck would work great in multiplayer and if there was a way to speed it up a little it would even be a viable singleplayer deck. The only thing I can think of is to try to fit in Careful Study or maybe Ray of Erasure for possible singleplayer. I'm not sure how you feel about your land base but Lonely Sandbar might be able to get you through your deck a bit faster.
