Announced during GP Indy, the Spring 2016 set is Shadows over Innistrad!

Ashockfan, Declaration in Stone is not as good as Bile Blight. First of all, it is a sorcery instead of an instant. Secondly, it gives the player who lost a card the chance to replace it for 2 mana. Of course, it has possible utility that you could use it on your own creatures for a way to draw cards, but that is pretty inefficient.

you're forgetting that it exiles creatures of any size, while Bile Blight only gives -3/-3...

Ashockfan, it is a pretty typical ability for white at sorcery speed, Journey to Nowhere, Oblivion Ring, Banisher Priest, etc. Declaration in Stone is actually a slightly lackluster rare.

That Avacyn is rough...sits for 2 turns unless you can sac a creature. Should tear Standard up but not so sure about subsequent value.

Look at Avacyn the purifier's art there has to be blood moon in this set. Damn playable too.

I fucking love how her wings are covered in blood and the warped spear. She'll be a monster to play, that's for sure.

I like how her wings in white are like a dove yet her wings in her red form looks as if they are a halk/falcon (or any bird of prey)

GearNoir, I think the E.D.H. value of Archangel Avacyn, the Purifier will probably be pretty good. It will be a solid pull for anyone who plays Standard or E.D.H. Someone might be able to find a way to use it in Modern (unlikely). I think this card will be good for both short-term and long-term value.

Since when is more character development bad?
The trailer did seem to hint an awful lot at Emrakul being the cause of the madness. I love Eldrazi a lot, but I'd rather have this be a fly-by rather than a full immersion.

Also Nahiri essentially wiped out all the vampires, wouldn't that affect Avacyn's programming in some way?

I'm pretty sure that Nahiri's only concerned with the vampires in Markov Manor. The other vampires should be fine.

CheeseBro I saw the extra eye on the one vampire near the center of the shot, but the rest of it I never even noticed. So spooks. What could it mean? Talk about eldritch horror, amiright?
I'm pretty sure the "phyrexian symbol" on the demon is just a coincidence, but who knows. Maybe Karn showed up one time unknown to everyone and spilled some oil. I dunno.

Has anyone seen this video of predictions for this block? I like the predictions, but I am not certain that I agree with all of them. For example, I highly doubt that any eldrazi shall be appearing in this block, to keep them reserved for a later block. The idea of an Innistrad-themed equivalent of the Zendkiar expeditions would be awesome (Innistrad enigmas," the professor called them), but I do not imagine that such a thing is very likely, since no other plane has ever had such a feature, before. The new colorless mana symbol is now a permanent fixture of this game, but I doubt that this block shall have a "colorless matters" theme, since that was a feature of the Battle for Zendikar block that was associated specifically with the eldrazi. Finally, I do agree with the professor in hoping that this block focuses on psychological horror and journeys into the dark and twisted minds of the plane's inhabitants and not merely physical battles and a straightforward struggle of good versus evil.
