Notion Thief + Reforge the Soul

I don't know about you, but upon new set releases I like to look at previous cards that have been "dismissed', and see if any of the new cards may have synergy with them.
I believe Notion Thief + a miracle cast Reforge the Soul could quite devastating to your opponent. (Each player discards their hand, and you draw cards equal to 7 times the number of players.)
Add to that the Flash... You can keep Notion Thief in your hand until you draw the Reforge the Soul , and it would come as quite the surprise.
Does anyone else see this as being playable?
Does anyone else see other cards that may come to life when combined with something from Dragon's Maze?
I like that one to... though I'm still not sure about one thing. Does doubling the counters the turn it becomes a creature double his power and toughness for that turn, or is it fixed when the activation resolves?
(i.e.: If Gideon has 5 counters, and becomes a 5/5 creature, then his counters are doubled to 10, is still just a 5/5 for that turn, or is he now a 10/10?)
I would assume that it is fixed at 5/5. Typically, if it were a variable number it would be worded as: "Until end of turn, Gideon becomes an indestructible Human Soldier creature with "This creatures power and toughness are equal to the number of loyalty counters on it." ..."
The way it's worded, makes me believe it should simply become a 5/5 creature until the end of turn, and not look at the number of counters after that.

To add to my original idea... Whispering Madness is a repeatable method of clearing their hand while gaining all the cards you could want.

Rayenous I tend to believe that it is fixed also. Though would like a judges ruling on it.

From the Oracle ruling on Gideon, Champion of Justice :
1/24/2013: Gideon, Champion of Justices power and toughness are set to the number of loyalty counters on him when his second ability resolves. They wont change later in the turn if the number of loyalty counters on him changes.

Rayenous That was exactly what ended up happening in my prerelease :) Notion Thief , Whispering Madness , and Paranoid Delusions :)

That works as well. Though I was thinking of options in Standard.
Some other good uses for Notion Thief include Bloodgift Demon , Otherworld Atlas , Sign in Blood and Trouble of Toil / Trouble .
Some of these together in a control deck could make for a self-mill Laboratory Maniac deck. - Opponent gets 1 card per turn.... you get "too many"... possibly throw in one Omniscience , and/or one Enter the Infinite for fun.

Epochalyptik thanks
Rayenous you just named 3 of the cards in my Prime Speaker Zegana commander deck. ;) big bombs to maximize zegana's draw power and Deadeye Navigator to bounce her to 'DRAW ALL THE CARDS!'

I just made a prototype deck with this in mind...
Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.

Well, i've always been on the Gideon, Champion of Justice and Vorel of the Hull Clade bandwagon since vorel has been spoiled.
