So, I picked up two Fat Packs (and one booster) of Oath of the Gatewatch. Was hoping to pull an Expedition, but ya know. I think this was more bust than anything, but my pulls were:

2x Sylvan Advocate

1x Zendikar Resurgent

1x Baloth Pup F

1x Forest F

1x Eldrazi Displacer

1x General Tazri

1x Stone Haven Outfitter

1x Kor Sky Climber F

1x Remorseless Punishment

1x Dread Defiler

1x Sifter of Skulls

1x Kozilek's Shrieker F

2x Dimensional Infiltrator

2x Oath of Jace

1x Overwhelming Denial

1x Jwar Isle Avenger F

2x Eldrazi Obligator

1x Embodiment of Fury F

2x Needle Spires

1x Corrupted Crossroads

So I think I'm gonna stick to buying singles.

Actually, looots of that stuff is in demand on Pucatrade. It's kinda surprising.

The Advocates are good cards.

Yeah man, the list of people who want the OotG cards I have is actually really really big. A lot of those are people wanting the same card, but even then, I'm getting a lot of matches for the really cheap stuff like Zendikar Resurgent, Remorseless Punishment, Stone Haven Outfitter, and the foils.

Also, trade your Eldrazi Obligators and Corrupted Crossroads to me. :p

Yeah, that's pretty shitty. But you did get 2 Goyfs -I mean- 2 Sylvan Advocates. That has to be the only reason that card is worth anything, the goyf comparison. Obviously way worse, but I think it could be a thing in standard (if it isn't already)

@ GoldGhost012 I can most definitely do that!

And I can see the potential for the Advocates in Modern, sort of. I'd really like to break it and the land creature stuff in EDH...

The RG Valakut deck from the recent PT seems like a good shell for Advocate. It would need some working though to take it from combo to midrange. I dunno. Building around it doesnt seem great. Too little pressure early for aggro, too little removal for midrange. You'd basically have to use it like Goyf, but it simply isn't Goyf

I don't think Scapeshift wants to try to use this guy...it's just a combo-control deck.

RG Valakut doesn't necessarily use Scapeshift. I really meant the land ramp package that the deck uses, with Sakura-Tribe Elder, Khalni Heart Expedition, and Prime Time. But like I said, too much time ramping and not enough time putting on pressure.

But that's not what this thread was supposed to be about so I'm out

Ah. I am a Valakut noob. I apologize.

Wow bro. That's almost as bad as my luck (haven't pulled a mythic in 164 packs and counting). Those advocates are sick though. Seriously they're seeing modern play :) (plus now you can play goyfless jund, which i may have to try out)
