Fable of Wolf and Owl

Deck Help forum

I absolutely love the flavor of Fable of Wolf and Owl , and I really want to make it work.

I was originally going to put it in a G/U that focused on tokens as well as card draw, using 'ole buddy Lorescale Coatl and Biomantic Mastery , and though I would like that deck, I'm not sure if it can be made really good.

I've also seen it used in wolf tokens decks, using card:Wren's Run Packmaster and such, though I'm not quite sure about that either.

Can I get some suggestions on ideas on using Fable of Wolf and Owl in a deck, and using it well? I feel like it has potential, and I would really like to explore it some more. Thanks!

I'd go with some sort of G/U Control build, using things like Voidslime , and if you're playing casual, Mystic Snake . Biomantic Mastery and Lorescale Coatl both work well with it as well. You might want to wait until Gatecrash releases so you can get some nifty Simic cards that way too.

Ah, good point with the Gatecrash release, Skyfolk. It's bound to have juicy, juicy Simic cards to use. >:3

I would be willing to bet that Simic cards will function with some sort of draw mechanic in Gatecrash. There will most likely be some good cards to use out of that set.

Yes. Simic was a little underwhelming back in the original Ravnica, but this time they have a bit of a Sea theme, so I/m expecting some card draw. They also have Octopus Wizards.

GU pump/bounce control sounds like a fun idea. think how often Vedalken Heretic gets blocked then think of it as a removal spell once you tack a Vines of Vastwood on it as blockers are declared. Re-useable etb effects with Dream Stalker and Roaring Primadox then throw in Scryb Ranger and card:Zur's Weirding for funsies

or you could go the Maro route with Soramaro, First to Dream , Overbeing of Myth and a ton of other cards that care about hand-size like Meishin, the Mind Cage

Those are some interesting ideas as well, gheridarigaaz.

Going off of my original idea, here is what I've come up with so far:Featherfang Fury

Thanks :D

Interesting is my specialty... though not necessarily effective :P

If you want to base the deck off Fable of Wolf and Owl and maximize its effectiveness, you can always base it around casting blue and green spells over and over again. Have Flashback stuff like Think Twice , Increasing Savagery and Cackling Counterpart , have things with buyback like Sprout Swarm or Spell Burst or retrace like Savage Conception , and maybe have a creature-bouncing theme with Cache Raiders or Roaring Primadox with enter the battlefield cards. That would make plenty of use of Fable of Wolf and Owl and may even work as a deck! :)
