Budget Mono-Blue Mill

Deck Help forum

Posted on Feb. 2, 2015, 6:02 a.m. by jesuscrazy

Hi, guys. I have a mono-blue mill deck, based on Undead Alchemist, but always when I play against a aggro deck, I lose. I want to adjust some cards in this deck, so, if you can help me, I'll be grateful.

PS: I want to build them without buy any card, if it's possible. My extras cards are in sideboard.

Here is my deck on Tappedout http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/27-12-14-budget-mill/

Ok as for suggestions cards like Dissolve and Dissipate are upgrades to Cancel.

Splashing black can provide your problem with aggro, Phenax, God of Deception with a large amount of walls could be a possibility.

Drown in Sorrow is a solution to aggro.

I mentioned standard legal cards as they should be fairly ease to get a hold of.

Why is it listed as legacy?

bijschjdbcd Splashing black gives you access to a lot better cards than Phenax. You get Thoughtseize. Thoughtseize is invaluable. You also get Silumgar for aggro decks with lots of 1/1s.

He was mentioning that he wanted a budget deck. Hence why i didn't suggest Seize.

bijschjdbcd I listed as legacy but it's casual. Sorry! I'll correct it. Well, I'm brazilian, so, Phenax, God of Deception is very expensive.

Is there any chance to correct my deck using my sideboard?

Black or Red are the only colours that offer effective ways to deal with creatures.

Dismal Backwater and Dimir Guildgate could help with this as well as Evolving Wilds could help with additional Hedron triggers.

I would also suggest 23-24 land.

bijschjdbcd Yes, I know. But if keep mono-blue will I lose always? I noticed that against control or combo deck, there is a high chance to win.

bijschjdbcd Thanks! This list that you post is AWESOME. I'll check some cards and the price in Brazil. I really like Memory Sluice.

bijschjdbcd Hey, I played with my friends today and a lose ALL MATCHES using my MonoBlue Mill HAHAHA. I'll put some black cards like Infest (in Brazil it is cheaper than Drown in Sorrow) and two or more creatures. Probably i'll drop the "return target permanents" cards, like Disperse and -2 Nullify. I was thinking in drop Cancel and buy Psychic Strike, and Pilfered Plans is better than Divination.

Makes sense.

Developing your deck on your own is an excellent idea.
