Commander Deck Help forum

I'm building a Wrexial Cthulhu deck. I'm putting out the call to all of the Vorthoses (Vorthi?). If you feel inclined to, tell me a card you feel should go into the deck.

Thanks in advance.

Brink of Madness

Circular Logic

Descent into Madness

Gibbering Descent

Obsessive Search

Psychotic Episode

Pretty much every eldrazi is on theme, and so is a lot of the set torment. Dark Depths is also pretty good. I've got to look, but cultists would be big, too, as long as they aren't explicitly demon cultists. A big thing the deck should be doing is play, and to make everyone else have to play slightly differently. Not shut them down, but offer up a reward for doing something just a bit off. I don't have great examples on hand, but you can get a lovecraftian feel by having things be weird even though the things making it weird aren't exactly tentacle monsters.

I found some Cultists for you. Most of them are black clerics, but I think that's on theme.

Selhoff Occultist

Blighted Shaman

Blind Zealot

Blood Celebrant

Brine Shaman Note that this one is actually a cultist worshiping the Dark Depths token

Doomed Necromancer

Dark Supplicant, with Scion of Darkness to go with it, of course.

And then there's some others. Despotic Scepter is pretty lovecraftian, as is Quest for Ancient Secrets. Also Nameless One and Nameless Race.

Perhaps Apocalypse and/or Elder Mastery.

Cthulu? I approve of this idea. +1

Like another person said, all the Eldrazi count (and more to come since we do not have the new Emrakul or Kozilek, yet), as they were inspired by H.P. Lovecraft. Some cards from Grixis (Alara block) and Innsitrad have that creepy H.P. Lovecraft motifs.

Aww someone already beat me to it but yes definitely Nemesis of Reason. Maybe even a few Cephalids, Cephalid Broker or Cephalid Looter just to help dig a bit and Llawan, Cephalid Empress if you just wanna be mean to anyone else playing blue. Beyond that everyone already posted what came to mind.

Get some horrible Tightening Coils in there too.

I think Guiltfeeder is well on message too.
