THRONE OF ELDRAINE/FULL PRIMER UPDATE AND ALTERS —Oct. 4, 2019

Hello! Sorry everybody for the lack of an update for Commander 2019. Not sure if everyone paid super close attention to the lists of new cards in the set but there was essentially nothing for Ur-Dragon. But we got Throne of Eldraine now with some fancy new toys to try out as well as trying out older ones as well.
Few things that have changed with the deck and page. I've completely updated the full primer with all the card inclusions as well as the Dragons and their reasoning for NOT being included. All 200+ of them. So if you ever got questions, be sure to check out that section. Second, I managed to have some of my alters come in as well as an Ur-Dragon alter which you can see below that I got from a friend. Shenron too OP for the casual out there and we'll be dropping Spirit Bombs on them. The land alters I picked up from Iefenn. Guy has some great design and definetely worth checking out if you're looking to pick some up yourself as he has a large selection at https://iefennproxies.wixsite.com/iefenn.

The Great Henge > Dragonlord Kolaghan - The Great Henge provides a very attainable cheap casting cost mana rock that has gives us extra life, buffs the dragons and draws us cards all in one little package. Casthing this as early as possible to start creating value is the goal with this card. Kolaghan was fine but missing out on half the ability ended up making me look down on the card and with having 7 mass haste enablers already, it wasn't really needed when it came to cuts. Faeburrow Elder > Ranger's Path - Again, I talk about ramp that scales as the game goes on and this is a perfect example. Bloom Tender that scales with the amount of colors among permanents and can enable some pretty ridiculous card casting very early. Ranger, while is land tutoring, felt the weakest and lowest ceiling out of all the ramp so it's hitting the bench for now. Golos, Tireless Pilgrim > Glorybringer - Golos not only ramps but can take over the game but enabling us to cast cards of the top for free when we have nothing else going on in hand. I'm very excited to try this one and see what ridiculous cards I can flip over. Glorybringer was good for removal but everything else in the deck is getting better for removal/card draw and he ended up looking the weakest dragon out of all of them. Ramos, The Dragon Engine > Yosei, the Morning Star - Giving Ramos another shot as I've always wanted him in the deck but never could find the room until I started thinking about Yosei. The threat of tapping someone's stuff if they wipe and kill all your Dragons and Yosei is cool and all but you usually don't have the follow up to punish them which makes the ability useless.

Vlasiax Opinion on the deck being slow is your opinion. In my experience, the deck has been perfectly fine and the times where the deck stumbles happens in Commander so not a whole ton I can do. It just happens sometimes. Dragon choices are made with using them as removal in mind so doing my best to include the ones that best combat permanents that give me a hard time. Kindred Discovery I like more in this deck than Rhystic Study as the upside and flavor of it I like more than Study as well as the walkers.

MoxRavager Yeah I could see including that if I need another effect. Maybe Elemental Bond for an even cheaper card but I would have to look at the deck's creatures to verify which one I would prefer. :)

Judge_Beard I've never considered the combo but the main goal with this deck is just to jam big, cool dragons. If you were looking for something like that, I would totally run that and any other dragon related combos but if I we're wanting a combo deck, I would play a different one other than Ur-Dragon. :)

Willen Morophon was one that I considered for a while and still am not 100% sure about but I've decided to not include it. While it does reduce The Ur-Dragon but 5 mana, it doesn't really do a good job of reducing everything else enough to make it worth it. If a spot opens up in the future though, he's definitely a consideration.

Cuickbrownfox1 Karrthus will always be in the deck as he's my first dragon commander and am aware of the drawbacks of having him cloned and losing my whole board. I did end up adding Kolaghan for another mass haste enabler. The second ability doesn't ever come up which is perfectly fine as he's still good enough without it.

MattN7498 Yeah, after quite a few games I dropped the the animate dead/worldgorger combo. Its good when it goes off, but getting it to go off was always tough enough.

Heres my list btw, check it out if you like, theres a few differences to yours. https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/28-02-19-dragon-tribal/ Same premise tho, slam big dragons. Keep up the good work!

Edit: I highly suggest Sarkhan the Mad , hes an absolute bomb with a few dragons out!

I played Sarkhan, Dragonsoul against a Najeela player and boy was it rough for them. Great to see the new updates, though!

Also what do you think about Lurking Predators? This card usually gives a lot of value especialy in high cmc dragons, if it's not destoryed asap it usually nets full board
