I have a lot of budget decks lying around here, but there aren't that many of them that are just pick-up-and-play for people learning the game. So I decided to make a deck series that filled that gap, with common effects and basic strategies that still provide enough depth to be interesting.

How about blue-red aggro? Start the pressure early with Monastery Swiftspear and Stormcatch Mentor, keep pressure on with Distortion Strike and Rally the Forces, and finish with a little bit of treachery when your opponent least expects it. By attacking hard with beefy evasive creatures, you can end the game before anyone notices.

If you use this deck as a teaching aid, focus on keywords, especially combat keywords like haste and trample.
