Vs Mono-White Soul Sisters: 2-1

This guy had a pretty descent Aggro deck that seemed to be based around triggering Serra Ascendant to finish.. But of course lifegain doesn't mean a thing against Infect! Mwahh-ha-ha-ha-hahh!.. >:D I lost the first match due to being mana flooded.. However, the next two matches I had great opening hands, and my deck performed exactly I wanted it to; he never stood a chance! ;D

Vs Grixis Cruel Control: 0-2

Ah, Counters & board-control, the very antitheses of this kind of deck! Generally speakingMana Leak, Far / Away, Lightning Bolt, Snapcaster Mage, etc all made my life hell this round.. In retrospect, I have Defense Grids in my sideboard for this very reason! But I totally forgot, therefore, the win was his..

Vs U/R Storm: 2-1

This one used Goblin Electromancer, mana acceleration, & card draw, then Past in Flames to do it all again before casting Grapeshot 3 times in a row for over 30+ damage.. He managed to get it off the first game. However, the second time he tried that I threw a monkey wrench into it by Negateing his Past in Flames.. The third time I just Doombladed his Goblin Electromancer midway into his combo to totally derail everything--yet again.. ;)

Vs G/W/B Melira Pod: 2-1

This one was very interesting indeed, because he happen to have Melira, Sylvok Outcast main-boarded to set up an infinite combo with Viscera Seer & Murderous Redcap.. I won the first game rather quickly.. The second game was going fairly well, that is until he managed to get off his infinite combo.. The third when on & on because when he cast his Melira, Sylvok Outcast, I didn't have a kill spell handy to respond with. But I noticed that his life was at 16 from his fetch-lands so I decided to maintain the pressure & just try to beat him down in lifepoints the old-fashion way.. I got him down to critical, then he used Viscera Seer to get rid of the Melira, Sylvok Outcast, thus reverting damage back to poison counters.. A couple of turns after that, he had about 5-6 creatures out on the board, including Voice of Resurgence, which sprouted a token because I had to counter his Birthing Pod.. But the last turn, after staring at the board for a while, I quietly thought he had just enough to kill me (before I did him next turn), but he scooped..

Conclusion

In the end I came away third place (and a few booster packs..), the control deck that beat me came in second, and one of the shop owners won it all apparently running G/R Urza Tron.. But all-in-all I was pretty happy with how it turned out, especially since I originally thought I was showing up to a Legacy event to use a completely different deck!! lol But luckily I had this on-hand for great effect! :)
