Considering replacing Sphere of the Suns with more Pentad Prism or Prophetic Prism .

Thoughts? I love comments.

I would actually put 4x card:Green Sun's Zenith in, it can tutor up and put on the battlefield the Nephilim.

I did consider putting in some creature tutoring, but honestly, I just wouldn't know what to cut. I need as much space as possible for creature-based ridiculousity. Really, Scrying, some extra draw, and stalling usually have me covered until I pull the Nephilim.

I also JUST figured out that Shelter only targets creatures I control, so it does not work at all the way intended. It has, however, still saved me in a few situations.

Update on how the deck works. Fucking beautifully. Today I played a four-player game vs Eldrazi, Mono-green Aggro, and Goblins. I ended the game with more than 300 Saproling tokens, 87 Eldrazi Spawn, 6 Artisan of Kozilek s (and other eldrazi company), various green bombs, and like, 5 Goblin King s, with a posse to back him up. Turns out Illicit Auction is a great way to ruin a perfectly good game.

Wow... this deck looks amazing. The one thing I would consider doing is sideboard a Shivan Meteor as a last resort boardwipe. Other than that, I love it. Also, the name is awesome.

Dude..... this deck is SICK. At first I looked at it, and didn't understand, but that mark of mutinty and spitting image is ridiculous. Good job. +1 for you.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback. I recently dismantled my B/R deck and have a few Terminate s lying around; considering boarding them in for instant-speed board wipe if things get ugly. God knows I have enough black sources to cast them.

Hey man, dope deck. The one thing I was finding a bit of a problem with was getting the ink-treader. I know someone recommended card:Green Sun's Zenith but for more budget tutoring I would splash black and run Clutch of the Undercity or Dimir House Guard . Still definitely +1

Hmm. You make a strong point. Transmute has been a godsend for my combo decks in the past, and Clutch of the Undercity has some good synergy with the nephilim. I'm just not sure what to cut. I think I can spare 1 Cerulean Wisps , because they seem to sit dead in my hand a lot, but will just one be enough?

Also, if I do go the transmute route, I might consider replacing one of the Spitting Image s with a Rite of Replication .

Might want to consider cutting 2 Cerulean Wisps , and then yes definitely running Rite of Replication over Spitting Image . You also might want to do some research on 4 cmc cards that synergy with the nephilim, and then run 4 Clutch of the Undercity instead of draw card. This will most likely be the most effective and budget route, but from my experience tutoring sometimes takes the fun out of decks, so it's up to you.

Yeah, I think I'll drop 2 Cerulean Wisps , and pick up 2 Clutch of the Undercity . I'm keeping at least 1 Spitting Image , though because when games go long (as they often do with this deck), the retrace ability becomes so much more insane than even a kicked Rite of Replication .

I found a bunch of cards with 4CMC that worked with the Nephilim. Recuperate seemed to be especially interesting, as I can target the Nephilim, copy it, and then just choose to gain the life with the copies (actually, I'm not so sure on this, would a rules Nazi help me out here?). Also notably, Traitorous Instinct can replace Mark of Mutiny pretty perfectly.

Ponder s are better for digging than Preordain s, digging 4 cards deep instead of 3 - and costing less on top of that!

April 20, 2011 9:22 p.m.

I've been told that before, but I don't run Ponder s because I'm absolutely terrified that I'll find one card I wanna keep but two cards I absolutely hate and need to get rid of. An unlikely situation, to be sure, BUT IT COULD HAPPEN.

Ah okay, I see what you mean. It just seemed like the only reason you had it in the deck, was to dig for the Ink-Treader Nephilim - and Ponder would do this job better. But I see why you would choose the Preordain then :)
