This deck is my attempt to play standard for the first time since old-timey Innistrad.

The starting point was the card Ammit Eternal that have a really cool interaction with Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons and Nest of Scarabs.

To support this engine Channeler Initiate provides good ramp and mana fix. This card allows the deck to ramp into its finisher, The Scorpion God or simply kill them with Obelisk Spider and a load of -1/-1 counters.

Lastly, Soul-Scar Mage is added for its combo potential with Magma Spray and Abrade, two of the best cards in the format. It also allowes for massive amounts of scarabs with Nest of Scarabs.

The last slots are taken by Claim / Fame, Fatal Push and Grind / Dust. These cards are cards I've seen ran in similar lists that I'm not sure is what the deck want but will be tested.

Note that my land base is entirely basics as of now, haven't fixed the right land base yet.

Went 2-2. Claim / Fame really underperformed, as well as Grind / Dust. The two losses were to control decks so might have to aim at a more aggressive gameplan with Exemplar of Strength in the Mainboard.
