Dimir Self Mill [THB]

Standard* Mill UB (Dimir)

Kuraku94

THB dimir self mill

I put together this list and I'm just unsure if I've got all the right pieces or if I've just got to experiment and figure it out.

I'm not sure if Thought Erasure is the way to go or not, but my thoughts on it is that I can use it to get rid of problem cards or things that will remove my Devourer of Memory or wipe the board etc.

I had Discovery / Dispersal in the original list, but ended up swapping it out in favor of Tymaret Calls the Dead

Another few considerations from earlier on were Doom Whisperer , Dimir Spybug , and Sinister Sabotage

The deck looks pretty good, it's hard to say what to change though because the meta is not very established yet. If it's working for you, play it and see what needs to be done from there. I'm definitely going to give it a go once I have the wildcards. I'll let you know how I do.

Thanks BlueDracolich1313!

The things I've been strongly considering lately are: Sage of Mysteries replacing Nightveil Sprite Gutterbones replacing Discovery / Dispersal

The deck looks good but it is too slow for the meta. Aggro decks are probably going to destroy you (especially mono red) and you are very vulnerable to board wipes making the white/blue control a hard matchup as well.

I would personnaly cut all 4 copies of Nightveil Sprite because it is way too slow for little upside.

An interesting idea would be to add 3 copies of Cauldron Familiar, 4 Witch's Oven and 4 Emry, Lurker of the Loch. You only need 1 cat in the graveyard to keep sacrificing it to the oven, emry is a very good card that does what the deck wants and can get the oven back from the graveyard and the oven/cat combo is very good against aggro. The cauldron also as other upsides like preventing your creatures from being exiled from banishing light (for the shepherd). It is just an idea though, it might be bad because emry is also quite a slow card and the cauldron and cat doesn't synergise very well with the rest of the deck apart from energizing with themselves. I think it is worth a try though.

Also I think Ashiok, Dream Render is worth considering as well. Oh and Doom Whisperer can be an insane finisher, if you surveil for a long time with Creeping Chill and probably kill them if you have Devourer of Memory in play (instant speed removal would be a disaster though).

That being said I really like the idea of the deck and been thinking about building something similar for a while.

Also you have too many 2 drops. Removing the Nightveil Sprite will fix that.I think Gutterbones is a good idea to fix your curve if you don't play the cat combo. It will pressure control decks a lot more.

Forget what I said about Ashiok, she doesn'nt bring enough to the board to justify her in this deck. Also I made a mono blue devotion self mill deck build around Thassa's Oracle and I think it has a lot of potential. If you want you can check it out and give me your thoughts on it in the comments !
