hello, I use to play grimgrin as commander for my EDH zombie deck, but now i switched over to the scarab god ;) Bontu's Monument this often worked better than urza's incubator as it is also helps out the none zombie creatures. + it enables your zombie combo storms with casting zombies.

Sedraxis Alchemist together with Rooftop Storm also makes a loop of infinitly casting this zombie incase gravecrawler gets exiled. the alchemist also works as removal when u have a blue permanent

Graveborn Muse will really get you alot of cards and you can get rid of her with all your sacrifice outlets if she gets dangerous.

Fleshbag Marauder with gisa en geralf i think this cards is unbelievably strong

Sidisi, Undead Vizier is a tutor for a card on a stick (a strong stick) can be brought back with gisa and geralf making it extra strong.

Josu Vess, Lich Knight at 4 mana he's a great zombie, and at 10 mana (end game) he will bring a whole army with him

Kindred Discovery a must include for tribal decks with blue

Cards i would personally not play are:

-stronghold assassin (reason he has to wait a turn before he can tap and work)

-Liliana's Reaver

-Endless Ranks of the dead (looks amazing on paper but always when i put it on the field it did nothing as i had not enough zombies to feed it)

-Dark Ritual

-Preordain

-Black Market (also pretty slow by my own experience)

Hi Falkenbach,

Thanks for your feedback. You're making some excellent points that have made me decide to make a few changes:

  • Out: Endless Ranks of the Dead; In: Graveborn Muse. I was facing the same problem you mentioned with Ranks, and I could always use some more draw.

  • Out: Stronghold Assassin; In: Fleshbag Marauder. You are very right about Assassin not being usable right after it enters play. In that sense, Marauder is much stronger (especially since it targets all opponents instead of just a single creature).

  • Out: Thornbite Staff; In: Sidisi, Undead Vizier. What was I thinking not including this earlier?!? She's spectacularly strong with Gisa and Geralf as she is able to exploit herself, making her a reusable tutor. The Staff has some fun utility uses, but not enough to be included in this deck. Also, I found the equip costs are rather high.

I gave your other suggestions a once-over but I've decided to hold off on them until I've played the deck some more. Thanks again! Also for the upvote(s)!

Kind regards,

NV_1980

I am glad i was of help with my suggestions for the deck ;)

After spending some money i tried to fit in the archfiend of Ifnir in my hapatra deck aswell with a small package of discarding and cycling. Will see how he works in my upcoming games. thanks for that suggestion !

The Liliana, Untouched By Death could be a good option to help you with combos when Gisa and Geral is not in the battlefield. Also, you can do more combos, for example, combine her with a sac outlet + Rooftop Storm + Gray Merchant of Asphodel or Vindictive Lich

Hi ygor_gs,

I like your suggestion and motivation for it. There are two reasons why I currently can't make the swap though:

  1. I do not own this version of Liliana. Planeswalkers are hard to come by for those of us who do not buy cards anymore. But who knows, maybe a friend of mine is eager to trade one.
  2. I would not know which card to take out for a swap.

Still, thanks for the idea though.

Regards,

Hi guys, awesome deck and defo +1. What about Cabal Coffers as a land? Would make the most of your Urborg you are running, and potentially give you enough mana to win using Torment of Hailfire .

Hi Doombeard1984,

LOL, thanks for that. We have a Cabal Coffers and just completely forgot to put it in here. Will definitely add it. Thanks again!

With kind regards,
