Unearth and Mana curve Considerations —March 5, 2021

Moldervine Reclamation out, Jeska's Will in: the 5 mana do nothing enchantment never seemed like the best use of mana when i had it in hand, Jeska's Will is just phenomenal at 3 mana even if Korvold is not on the field. God-Eternal Bontu, out Viscera Seer in: Bontu was one of my favorite cards in the deck previously but due to the cost and awkward set of circumstances necessary to get the most out of it it was cut for Viscera Seer. Acidic Slime out, Reclamation Sage in: This cut is mostly in consideration of Unearth. Having deathtouch was not worth the clash in my eyes. Falkenreath Noble out, Destiny Spinner in: Falkenreath noble was primarily included as a flying blocker with relevant text in the original list. Now with the addition of Unearth and the increased reliance on enchantments sticking to the battlefield, destiny spinner was an easy include. Mycoloth Out, Vexing Shusher in: Mycoloth and Bontu share a similar place in my heart. The board just never gets wide enough to make huge use out of these creatures. Vexing Shusher is a meta call and will likely be swapped out for Wheel of Misfortune when I make my next order. Dark Ritual out, Unearth in: Unearth was a card i wanted to have in the deck. With the addition of Jeska's Will losing Dark Rit doesn't feel as bad. Unearth can get back most of the combo pieces and, due to cycling, is never really a dead card. Paradise Druid out, Mana Crypt In: This card is just good. Most of these cuts were just to move the mana curve towards 2 instead of 3. Unearth is a great include and making the cuts to get the most out of this card just makes the deck more fun to play.
