Simple math, 1 damage deals 1 damage. Duh. However Assault Strobe makes 1 damage 2 damage. Cool.

But with infect on the mix it also gets a little funky because in a way 1 damage is 2 damage

Mix them both and it's now worth it to Gut Shot your own Satyr Hoplite for that 1=4 damage

A simple hand of Turn 1: Mountain and Satyr Hoplite, Turn 2: Swamp and a Tainted Strike with a Assault Strobe and a final phyrexian spell like Gut Shot or Mutagenic Growth you can kill someone turn 2
