Icy Manipulator + Winter Orb = you get your lands untapped on your turns. Dark Depths + Thespian's Stage = free Marit Lage. Dark Depths + Vampire Hexmage = free Marit Lage. Dark Depths + Solemnity = free Marit Lage. plus solemnity prevents you from putting age counters on your cumulative upkeep cards keeping the upkeep at the original price.Basalt Monolith + Paradox Engine + Voltaic Key it may not be infinite mana, but its plenty to cast everything you have in your hand.

I agree that this iteration I am currently playing is going to take a little bit to get use to as it plays quite different. I also agree that luck of the draw and different match-ups will play quite differently from time to time and it is just going to take me a little bit to get use to this variant. It is however playing better and I see a potential in it that is quite exciting. I am going to make a few more changes by adding in a few more mana dorks to get better odds of setting up that mana base early. As far as Icy Manipulator I have found it quite invaluable. Especially if you get it to combo off as in Icy Manipulator + Winter Orb Tapping your own Winter orb with it on your opponents end step right before your turn is completely devastating to them as it tempos the rest of the playing field except for you. Icy Manipulator + Winter Orb was always a big thing back in the day when I was playing 4th edition but I guess it went away for a while...with the version of winter orb in eternal masters however it's text as well as it's oracle text on the gatherer says "As long as Winter Orb is untapped, players can't untap more than one land during their untap steps." and they even use an example of tapping it with Glare of Subdual so it must be legal again.

Here is a list of some of the combo's currently in this deck:

Icy Manipulator + Winter Orb Allows you keep your opponents lands tapped but not your own. Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Spike Feeder Infinite Life. Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Phyrexian Altar + Spike Feeder Infinite Life and Infinite Mana of any color. Ashnod's Altar + Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Spike Feeder Infinite colorless Mana. Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Triskelion Infinite Damage to any number of target creatures and players 1 point at a time. Necrotic Ooze + Phyrexian Devourer + Triskelion With the Ooze on the BF and the other 2 in the GY it goes infinite like the previous combo. Dictate of Erebos + Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest Add some tokens to sac, which eliminates blockers and tron with Mazirek. Grave Pact + Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest Same as previous.

I used a U/w (more like mono blue) delver deck from innistrad/rtr block. Ajani used the elkin bottle challenge deck. He was very much able to lock me out with winter orb both games. If he used his cards better and tapped his lands more efficiently, he would've swooped me. But instead of bolting my Delver of Secrets  ^Flip, he chose to play Winter Orb and he lost cause I had a Runechanter's Pike attached with a buttload of cards in my grave. If he sacced one of his lands, he could've bolted delver and played winter orb while I was tapped out. Which would've given him tons of time to control the board and either mill me out or burn me out. All in all, I do not want to fight against Icy Manipulator + Winter Orb . We did however only test one deck. We might try again. Some other time when we're both available.

OK, Oracle text put in, in place of the Masters Edition text.

The interesting thing (in case you didn't know) is that the "incorrect" Masters Edition text, is how the card was supposed to work from the beginning. In fact, Continuous Artifacts originally all were like this... If they were tapped for any reason, their effect would be interrupted until they were tapped out again. Icy Manipulator + Winter Orb used to be a very real combo.
