Scrapyard Salvo

Sorcery

Scrapyard Salvo deals damage to target player equal to the number of artifact cards in your graveyard.

Cloudy2024 thanks! It's a fun exercise to try and design a deck that revolves around a weird strategy and try to make it as consistent as possible. I'd highly recommend finding a card you think is cool or funny and trying to make a deck out of it! For me, I just happened to find a couple of copies of Scrapyard Salvo when looking through my paper collection and was surprised that it didn't see much pauper play. Ultimately I decided to go out of my comfort zone and make a weird 4 colored deck around it

skyland Here's what I threw together, tried to keep the froggy feel and show off as many frogs as possible while stalling and tossing artifacts into the graveyard. Mostly added mainboard interaction so Galvanic Blast can be used to shoot the opponent for 4, putting them on a short clock with Jade Avenger, Frogmite, Makeshift Munitions, and Scrapyard Salvo. Also fixed the land issue I didn't notice immediately. 16 is far too low for any variation of this deck. I added Spore Frog and Frogify for any heresy I committed by lowering the frog count

I hate the more "typical" suggestions but to maximize Stickytongue Sentinel you should definitely run Experimental Synthesizer. It's extra card selection and so much more mana efficient than Papercraft Decoy, and still fills the artifact slot for affinity. Unfortunately it means dropping multiple copies of a frog so more of a flavor choice. A more interesting suggestion (r.i.p. your mana base) is Scrapyard Salvo. Nobody will be expecting it. Sac all of your artifacts to the munitions and throw out 6 or 7 damage to face for 3 mana. Run bolts or more control elements mainboard and you have frog burn. To keep as many frogs as possible, what I see for cuts are just Prizefight and the Beamtown Beatstick (or Sticky Fingers if going for the salvo taking the flavor loss). I'm surprised there are no Spore Frog's in the deck but considering it takes a creature aggro approach they aren't as good. If you go control or burn they are 100% needed though

Artifact

Cards in your graveyard are artifacts in addition to their other types.

In Kuldotha, the Air Guitar competitions routinely result in fatalities

Yes! Finally a card to make Scrapyard Salvo a super game winner

You should try Implement of Combustion , Implement of Improvement and friends instead of flask, petal, vial and some number of Prophetic prism since they replace themselves when sacrificed, and they can sac themselves as well. Then some other suggestions are Scrapyard Salvo as a finisher (don't expect it to deal 20 dmg at once, but 7/8 dmg it's still good for 3cmc), Crack the Earth which is specially good in turns 1/2 since the opponents mostly have to sac lands or creatures when you sac a self replacing egg, Galvanic Blast , Reckless Fireweaver as your disciples 5-8 or even Firebrand Archer .

Thanks for the suggestions ZwiebelRoyal. Scrapyard Salvo sounds pretty great. I may put in Atog and Disciple of the Vault for the Embraal Gear-Smasher, who didn't play as well as I thought he would.

I used to play 4 looting and 3 Darksteel Citadel, it wasn't as good as it looked, so I went donw to 3 Looting, still wasn't great. It definately worked best as a 1 of, out of the three options I've tried, but never tried it as a 2 of.

I do like Soul's Fire as it can both be removal and a wincon. Didn't know it was a card actually, thank's for sharing, but I want the Scrapyard Salvo for removal heavy matchups, which there seem to be enough of to mainboard 1.

But perhaps I should add an extra looting and see. It's a great card if just don't get too many of them.
