Kozilek's Command

Kindred Instant — Eldrazi

Choose two —

  • Target player creates X 0/1 colourless Eldrazi Spawn creature tokens with "Sacrifice this creature: Add ."
  • Target player scries X, then draws a card. (Look at the top X cards of your library, then put any number of them on top or bottom of your library in any order.)
  • Exile target creature with mana value X or less.
  • Exile up to X target cards from graveyards.

Cloudy2024 thank you for that correspondence. I feel like I had each individual aspect of the card explained really well. The modality of the spell makes it very desirable, and you've reawoken within me the knowledge of Modern "answers". I enjoy how the deck functions as is, but I think the end result is reinforced by your recommendation of Kozilek's Command. I disagree about having a full playset because it's distracts from my main win condition, but it's inclusion and efficacy can't be questioned. After I did 8 rounds of playtesting against decks you mentioned (Reanimate, Spellslinger, aggro, etc.) I found that having 2 of the Command was helpful in 6 out of 8 matches, and unhelpful in only 2 where I overdressed the spell (these players tests were made with a 4 of the command). I shall digress- the command will stay in a non-zero capacity because it's use is almost vital to protecting our gameplan. Thank you so much for your input, you've made the Abbey that much better!

Kozilek's Command is the best card in the format and is CRAZY with the fleshraker so must have of 4

Kozilek's Command and Glaring Fleshraker combo is definitely game changing, so most certainly 4 of those

And Kozilek's Command is one of the best cards in the format, so 4 if you can get your hands on them

In the past, I have avoided using Psychosis Crawler since it bypasses interaction. It might be okay in this case. Your opponents are unlikely to have 10 creatures when you assemble the combo, so it'll usually take you a couple of attacks to knock everyone out.

Some things to consider: Urza's Saga, Trinket Mage, Renowned Weaponsmith, Grand Architect, Ornithopter of Paradise, Trophy Mage, Glint-Nest Crane, Ingenious Smith, Loyal Inventor, Body of Knowledge, Illusory Ambusher, The War Games, Combat Calligrapher, Kozilek's Command

  1. Would go better in my Feldon of the Third Path

  2. All have been in there at one point. I decided to trim instants and sorceries and stay with Kozilek's Command. It's excellent and so versatile

  3. Is a consideration. I usually average a token per turn. The other ability is nice but pricey

  4. RTFDL ;)

  5. Also been in there. Also, better in Feldon.

  6. Only works if Purph is a creature, which I'm not too keen on doing most of the time.

Goldfish the current list, I think you'll find it to be an interesting puzzle

My Raggadragga deck uses Eldrazi Spawns and Scions and one instant I use is Kozilek's Command.

If you're animating lands, I'm pretty fond of Sylvan Awakening.
