Kibo, Uktabi Prince

So for the last three months, I’ve been testing out a commander deck which is built around the commander, Kibo. The deck utilizes both green and red, because I assumed the red mana symbol in Kibo’s text was a part of his color identity. However, I am now becoming apprehensive, because I heard that “reminder text” is not part of a creature’s color identity.

So, my question is, should I assume that the red mana symbol is simply reminder text describing the rules for the banana token? Or is it actually Kibo’s color identity, and how do I distinguish this from reminder text?

bjgivesbj on Can Goblin Welder Bring Tokens …

Okay, I feel like the answer is “no,” but am unsure.

So, say I have Kibo, Uktabi Prince on the battlefield, and I have already used his ability twice, giving an opponent two bananas. While Goblin Welderfoil is on the battlefield under my control, the opponent sacrifices only one banana. As the token hits the graveyard, could I tap Goblin Welderfoil to return that token to the battlefield and make the opponent sacrifice the remaining untapped banana?

Why would I even want to exchange tokens? Shenanigans I guess. Also, it would trigger Kibo’s triggered ability twice, since two tokens will have gone to the graveyard.

Any morsel of knowledge helps

Thanks!

Hello saw your Reddit comment on universal includes

I think I got more options for ya (note: may not agree with the list)

  1. Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer - makes creatures that’s also artifacts and can turns everything into the right token for a win con in play creatures or artifacts (particuarlly mechanized production or revel in riches)

  2. Fain, the Broker - not the best idea but has a few catergories for the wincons especially the part for untapping him to do some again

  3. Planewide Celebration - that’s another utility knife along with Titania's command, counters, lifegain, and tokens (heck the tokens even help with “Happily ever after”) and a bonus it regrowth's stuff you lose, second bonus is you have bolas in your deck so that can get him to the magic number for the ultimate

  4. Master of Ceremonies or/and Gluntch, the Bestower - both the same upkeep for the rhino and endstep for the jellyfish you once again get nearly all the ctaergories

  5. This is a honorable mention Kibo, Uktabi Prince - you got a Titan artifact removal for making this monkey grow and makes bananas that fit the bill for lifegain and artifacts (it’s honroable because if maskwood was in your deck it gives counters to all the creatures while in play)

Oh and the ultima package not in your deck they help every…single…one of your wincons because they shortcut to the upkeep to trigger a wincon you got fulfilled to instantly win. And what are those?

  1. Obeka, Splitter of Seconds
  2. Shadow of the Second Sun
  3. Sphinx of the Second Sun

And pretty much “Extra turn” spells in general but the ones to point the fingers at are the cheapest mana value 1. Last Chance 2. Final Fortune 3. Warrior's Oath 4. Chance for Glory 5. Savor the Moment (this is the safest one)

Legendary Creature - Elder Mutant

Mutate

Flying, Trample, Vigilance.

Whenever ~ mutates, put X +1/+1 counters on it, where X is the number of different colors among its mutations.

2/2

Kibo, Uktabi Prince makes Bananas, which basically are equally worse treasures and worse foods. Make a card that creates tokens that either combine clue and food or clue and treasure in a similar way.

Queza's Thoughtbender

Creature - Cephalid Warlock

Ward - Mill three cards.

Other cephalids you control have "Ward - Mill three cards".

Whenever an opponent mills one or more cards, you may exile up to one of them.

You may cast cards exiled with ~ if that card's owner has been dealt damage this turn by a cephalid you control.

3/4

Create a legendary creature card depicting a team-up of Chatterfang, Squirrel General and Kibo, Uktabi Prince.

Looks like Kibo, Uktabi Prince isn’t attached to Banana because there isn’t a Banana token yet. Same with There and Back Again and Smaug

Grove of Bananas

art:

banana+Tree

Land - Forest

~ Enters the battlefield tapped

(: add )

All Banana tokens gain: " Sacrifice Banana: Create a 0/3 green plant creature token called "Banana tree" and :Create a tapped banana creature token"

: Create a banana token

When Nissa first visited the plane of Kerrandor, she thought the world was barren and bare so she left but a few seeds to a few humble farmers to help cultivate a new harvest, When she returned a thousand years had passed, and the plane had been renamed 'Banandor'

apologies for the double post but tappedout text editor has got to be the least ascii-art friendly text editor in history. I've spent the better part of 25 mins trying to display an ascii banana. Alas I have failed :(

Exponential cards are inherently hard to balance especially on a land, but this card definitely fits into a Kibo, Uktabi Prince deck. I'm sure it can go infinite with other cards, but there are a lot of built-in hurdles to go through before this goes infinite. But the idea of an infinitely expanding banana forest is so funny to me.

Next challenge: Create a card from the plane of Banandor
