Venum The land untappers are useful with all the mass land reanimation spells like Splendid Reclamation or Will of the Sultai, since those lands enter tapped. That can allow me to potentially chain cast spells or effects like that to completely burn out the table if Hearthhull, the Worldseed is fully Stationed.

Yeah, with this deck, I went for more land sacrifice effects than land etb effects. Tannuks card draw was too nice to pass up, that's why he's included. If I were to add those two creatures in, what do you suggest I swap out for them?

As for the other fetchlands, I feel like I'm not actually not running enough lands with the Forest/Mountain/Swamp subtype. I've been thinking about proxying in the ABU lands into more of my decks, in which case I would probably add in some more fetchlands too. But for now, I don't feel like I need them too much. If I end up adding those two land pingers into the deck, I might want to add more fetches for them too.

Love the deck! I bought the pre-con and re-built it around Szarel, Genesis Shepherd because i had now experience with a landsac deck.
Obviously, Hearthhull, the Worldseed is a much better and faster option.

Here's some suggestion outside the box :

Juri, Master of the Revue since you're sacrificing a LOT, this creatures becomes HUGE fast, give you a great blocker and if someone wants to destroy it, they eat a lot of damage too.

Mayhem Devil is already in your maybeboard, I love it. since we're going for non-combat damage.

Braids, Cabal Minion is also great, slows down everyone while giving you a sac outlet for free.

Baeloth Barrityl, Entertainerfoil While goading is great for your own protection, the fact that it creates treasure token to keep your mana up while sacrificing all your lands is great.

DatboiD Thanks for taking a look! I actually don't own a Strip Mine, but I do have a Wasteland that I could probably fit in. Yeah, I wanted this deck to prioritize land destruction on just my end, haha. I considered running some symmetrical land destruction effects, such as Wildfire or Planetary Annihilation, but they didn't feel right when I tested them out.

I'll keep an eye out for your Hearthhull, the Worldseed deck! This is such a fun commander, and it has so many different directions that it can go.

l_kalisticks_l Thanks for checking out the deck! Yeah, Scute Swarm can definitely go nuts in a deck like this. For this deck, I'd rather burn out my opponents with Hearthhull, the Worldseed's ability rather than create a near-infinite number of Scute Swarms.

I personally like each of my decks to feel mechanically unique. This deck is more focused on the lands in the graveyard theme rather than just Landfall. I'm in the process of rebuilding my Yarok, the Desecrated deck that emphasizes more Landfall-esque effects, which will have Scute Swarm 100%. The potential overlap between playstyles is what led me to retire my previous Lord Windgrace and Yarok, the Desecrated decks, as they became too similar to each other.

If I end up needing more creatures on the board, Scute Swarm is first on my list to add back in.

Okay, maybe a couple more suggestions from my rotation, since you are still somewhat open to a bit of Black. The following options have Black in their color identity, but it is more so the secondary or even tertiary support color:

  • Goro-Goro and Satoru - They're a blast to play and have a couple of different build paths, depending on your budget and whatnot. Their most popular build option utilizes Ninjutsu and smaller evasive/unblockable threats as Ninjutsu enablers. I went more all in on Haste, Dash, and Dragon support, so the deck is almost Mono Red with Blue and Black playing support. They're a bit over a dollar, and they're currently sitting at 205 on EDHRec.

  • Szarel, Genesis Shepherd - The newest addition to my line up and another pre-con commander option. Out of the box, the World Shaper pre-con is probably one of the strongest and well built options out there, and doesn't need a whole lot of upgrading. Most people play Hearthhull, the Worldseed as their commander, since it was the "face" option for the deck (and is fairly strong). Given Szarel's wording, you can lean into Lands Matter, +1/+1 Counter, or Aristocrats/Sacrifice to various sliding scales, or even go for an Insect typal build. From playing him, he feels more like a +1/+1 counter commander that uses the other strats as additional value. Either way, both commander options lean much more heavily Green with Red and Black used for additional support. Szarel is currently sitting at 634 on EDHRec, and Hearthhull is at 184.

I was considering something similar and blending two precon decks and was going to actually use Hearthhull, the Worldseed precon and Prossh, Skyraider of Kher *f-etch* precon deck. A lot of the creatures in Hearthhull's build specify "Sacrifice a permanent" which can play into both decks. So you blend the two, maybe a little "lands become creatures" (or vise versa) and double up on the sac abilities. Prossh + dictate of Erebos and land control via Hearthhull would just be nasty and could shut down the field.

Your primer description is hilarious. Have you revisited this list much since the World Shaper precon dropped recently? Your strat of "primary sac lands for Korvold value" is more or less the focus of that deck, except with either Hearthhull, the Worldseed or Szarel, Genesis Shepherd as the commander. In fact, Korvold was reprinted in the 99 for that deck list. I personally opted for Szarel as the commander, but I'm sure Korvold could slot into the Command Zone without skipping much of a beat.
