List isn't complete, nor will it ever be complete.

This list is meant to serve as a gauntlet for the more competitive players in modern, those that go to GPs and such.

If a deck makes it into the meta, let me know, and I'll add it.

You copied your tokens list from a daily event, which I would not recommend doing. For example, the tokens list runs Tidehollow Sculler, which you are not likely to find in any tokens list nowadays, with the printing of Kolaghan's Command.

I copied several of them from dailies :3 mostly because I was just pulling up the list that placed first.

90% of the burn lists that are currently being played are Naya Burn lists due to Atarka's Command and Wild Nacatl. Naya burn is better than Boros Burn against most of the current meta, while Boros Burn is better in the Mirror.

Dailies aren't something that you should be basing them off of though. I've seen some really bad lists get first place in dailies. They aren't that indicative of a good deck compared to a deck that might place first in a GP for example.

Whoops. Didn't see the Naya Burn over there on the side.

I'll make the changes when I get home.

I did note that sculler was a little off as I typed it up.

This is why I opened this to the community, for little improvements and things I may have missed.

I tend to be really nitpicky when it comes to tokens haha.

September 17, 2015 5:42 p.m.

Since this was made to do high level playtesting, nitpicking is good.

Great project. I haven't seen the Gifts Ungiven flavor of Scapeshift that much (yet?), you may want a closer-to-average list. I would definitely recommend adding some kind of non-combo, mono-Green Coco Elves aggro list, along with Zoo, and maybe even U Tron.

September 17, 2015 6:31 p.m.

I'll add a normal scapeshift later, but the decision for scapegift was due to it placing first in two events, with the regular version only placing first once.

I'll add the others too.

No 8-rack? Or is that not high enough Tier? I don't see Soul Sisters or UTron in there either.

September 17, 2015 6:45 p.m.

Gothca, didn't notice the Scapegift result, but I had the same reasoning with Elves.

These are close to right (from quick searches - there may be better lists out there):

Modern Mono-U tron

Petting Zoo

CoCo's New Recruits

Those are things to look out for, but when I put it up, I just went with the highest placing decks on their categories, then opened it up to discussion so that others like 8rack and such can be added.

You're contributions are all welcome, and I'll get on them asap.

September 17, 2015 6:56 p.m.

Great man!!

September 17, 2015 7:44 p.m.

Updated Tokens.

Added Soul Sisters, Mono U tron, 8-rack.

Elves is in a weird place right now. We have several lists running around attempting different things. I think, Ill wait for that one to adapt to the new meta before adding it.

what about enchantment

September 17, 2015 10:59 p.m.

You mean bogles? It's there.

xzzane says... #21

He might be referring to Abzan Constellation decks.

September 17, 2015 11:13 p.m.

I thought that was only a standard deck?

September 17, 2015 11:18 p.m.

xzzane says... #23

I've seen people make it into a modern deck before. It's not really what I would call competitive though, so I don't think it would belong. There's also another deck that revolves around enchantments and things like Sphere of Safety and Ghostly Prison effects, but I can't remember what it's called.

September 17, 2015 11:20 p.m.

I wasn't going to consider adding it, since its.... not.... something you would expect to see at a higher REL.

Are you thinking of Lantern Control?

September 17, 2015 11:22 p.m.

xzzane says... #25

Am I? No, and I doubt he is either. Lantern Control uses artifacts, not enchantments.

September 17, 2015 11:25 p.m.

For some reason I thought it had Ghostly Prison.... Im dumb. Or drunk.

Or both.

I would add in Lantern Control. It just won a big GP. Zac will continue to play it at big tournaments at least, and countless others will attempt it of MTGO.

September 18, 2015 7:20 a.m.

We'll see if it shakes the meta. Yes, it won, but that doesn't mean it's going to be a staple, that just means it surprised people.

September 18, 2015 11:34 a.m.

JakeHarlow says... #30

True. It needs a bit more time before one could truly say it is cemented in the metagame. It now has to face the meta's reaction to it -- and few decks prove able to stand up to that. But it could, all the same, we will see.

September 18, 2015 12:54 p.m.

The talk around my shop has been to side against it the way you would side against affinity - Creeping Corrosion, Hurkyl's Recall, etc, and because of that and how much slower it is than affinity, its probably not going to do well. However, it was a great meta call, as we saw at GPOKC.

And that might just be where it stays for the rest of modern. A meta call.

I would include Lantern Control. Yes, it's not going to see much more than fringe play, but you want to be as prepared as you can possibly be going into a large event. Lantern Control might be one of the decks that you run into. And if you know what the deck is, you stand a much better chance of winning against it. For example, instead of using my fetches like Marsh Flats like I normally would, I can use them to potentially abuse Lantern of Insight and get a new, better topdeck. Of course this only works if they don't have a Codex Shredder or something untapped, but it's still something small you can do to improve your chances against the deck.
