What would everyone vote as the quickest/most efficient commander deck? Ive heard mix stories of 5 color commander decks being top tier. But I want more ideas.

Arguably the most consistently fast deck in EDH is the Five-Color Hermit Druid deck. I think Epochalyptik has a version on his profile. I know it would have to be a combo deck, or a really lucky Voltron on a really good day.

Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund comes out swinging. Paired with Hellkite Charger + Bear Umbra, you can clean house.

Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund seems slow, even compared to other commander damage strategies. Am I missing something?

well it would depend on if you had restrictions on what type of deck it plays as.

if you dont have a preference then yea a 5 color combo is the fastest. if you want aggro or stax etc etc that changes things

Well, with lots of ramp he can come out early. I also don't have any combo decks in my playgroup. Nor is my playgroup extremely competitive. But, Karrthus is capable of dealing Commander damage quite well.

Animar, Soul of Elements would be my other choice for ridiculous combos and fatties. Probably faster than Karrthus. I prefer fatties. TIIMMMMMAAAYYY!

If there is one thing I've learned since i was introduced to commander Back when the first premades dropped it's that the fastest and most deadly decks all tend to be loose clones of existing legacy and vintage (to a lesser degree due to lack of mox) archetypes.

Honestly it's kinda depends on your deck. If you build your deck right, it will be efficient. If you don't, it'll be slow. As far as archetypes go, it's still hermit Druid decks, but as I said it all depends on the deck.

In general, most competitive EDH combo decks aim for a win between turn 3-5. Some can achieve earlier wins, conditions permitting. Expensive, combat-oriented generals are simply outclassed in this environment, especially in multiplayer, and they aren't very efficient.

I saw someone at my LGS run an artifact-based Mikaeus, the Unhallowed EDH build that consistently pumped out T3-6 wins.

A buddy at my lgs has a Maelstrom Wanderer deck, my Rafiq of the Many deck and his go toe to toe lots and rarely does a game go past turn 6. With a good draw I can end games turn 4 without infect damage

Hermit Druid all the way for speed. A good hand and amazing draw can get you there with Azusa as well. Turn 3-4 primal surges are fun.

Wow!!! Rafiq of the Many seems really good, anyone have a competitive Rafiq edh deck?

Atarka, World Render is a 2 hit kill. If you can cheat him in with fast mana, rocks, and rituals, you can probably annoy everyone.

As far as fast commanders go, Geist of Saint Traft is pretty fast and efficient. Zurgo Helmsmasher is great at voltron.

Both Bant Beaters is my build. It's a little outdated since FRF came out and I tweaked it a bit to be a Derevi, Empyrial Tactician deck for multiplayer. Rafiq is not so great in multilayer games since he makes you public enemy number one in big games. Still the deck should give you and idea on where to start.
