Deck changes finally! —Jan. 10, 2015

Well boys and girls deck changes are here. I took out some junker cards to add cards I can't believe I forgot and let me tell you, people hate a well oiled machine. I took out things like tempered steel and the equipment swords to add Liquimetal Coating Unwinding Clock Basalt Monolith Rings of Brighthearth and Muzzio, Visionary Architect(who warrants his own deck, almost to the point that I believe it can be faster than arcum) to increase shenanigans and for extra tutor effects. Thank you all who have been following this deck since its infancy!!!! The video is still a bear to get. People refuse to give you permission to post their reactions when you've left them destroyed and hopeless.

Cryptos I am so glad to hear that my sydri has inspired you. I hope to one day see it at the top of the list. I had considered the disk and have been battling back and forth with it for a while. I have played using it and have had mixed emotions on using that combo. I do appreciate the feedback. The mantle upon original testing did marginally well. It may find its way back in as well as the monolith. Now go make a sydri deck and join the club:P welcome to using a "meh" commander

Major updates coming soon. Trimming a lot of the fat in this deck. Making it faster, meaner, and at the super competitive level.

I like this deck a lot. I've been wanting to make an artifact deck for a while but was never interested in Sharuum as a general. I made my own Sydri deck based off this one but with my own spin to it. One suggestion i would make is adding Liquimetal Coating . It interacts nicely with Syrdri for spot land removal and infinite combos with March of the Machines and Dross Scorpion .

Feel free to check out my version of the deck: Sydri, Combo Genius EDH

I'm a bit late here, but a few random observations:

1) I tried out Clock of Omens in my personal list not expecting anything and was wrong. Clock is AMAZING. You think that it doesn't do much since a lot of the combos in here are self-sustaining, but that's not true. The great thing about clock is that it effectively serves as a less powerful combo piece in a lot of the combos to allow for annoyance.

Next, it allows for pseudo-combos. Using one, I've managed to bounce a Spine of Ish Sah five times every turn. I topdecked an Unwinding Clock and it was just insanity.

It can also be used as a mana generator. Being able to use a Basalt Monolith for free is phenomenal. Also, if you're in a tight spot, it can be a really bad filterer if you have Artifact lands.

2) Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas . His +1 is just pure card advantage, his -1 allows for 0-maintenence combos (and allows for combat wins) and his -4 can very well close games out of nowhere, especially with Mycosynth Lattice on the field. The only reason I can see for not including him is that he can usually miss, but if you do, you're very likely cycling away things you didn't need. So, his +1 isn't "draw one or zero cards", it's really "draw five cards".

3) Liliana Vess . I'm liking her a bit less the more I use her, but the repeatable tutors are just too good to ignore.

4) Unwinding Clock . It allows you to continue your devious combo on your opponent's turn, generates mana, grants quasi-vigilance, and more. Gains a lot of value with Memnarch in the list as well.

5) Sands of Delirium . It's at worst a mana outlet, but I very often end up having a lot of mana from Clock of Omens and other shenanigans. Tutoring for Clock isn't a horrible idea. This will often allow for milling ten cards a turn as early as turn 5-ish.

Due to personal issues I haven't been able to check tapped out until today. I'm glad to still see comments and views. This deck has been changed and morphed so much that it's going to take me a few days to get everything set up for the new deck list. All I have to say is that I played it at a new shop and now no one will play the magics with me haha. New list coming soon!

I'm not sure you actually need Chromatic Lantern or Silver Myr for your Sydri, Galvanic Genius + Chromatic Lantern / Silver Myr + Dross Scorpion + Mycosynth Lattice combo.

Mycosynth Lattice says "players may spend mana as though it were mana of any colour", so you can actually just untap any mana producer you have in play (even a land, which is now an artifact thanks to Mycosynth Lattice ) to machine-gun your opponent's lands off the board.

Just something you might want to note, Akroma's Memorial stops you from targeting any of your creatures with Sydri. You can still animate non-creature artifacts, but pro-black when they become creatures stops you from giving them deathtouch and lifelink.

The death touch and lifelink are moot. The animation ability is what this deck is based around. Thank you for the info though

If anyone is still waiting for the video I have had a ton of life issues arise and in all honesty life>magic. I will eventually get around to doing deck changes and posting a link to the deck tech video as soon as I possibly can.

I hope you are able to put up the new deck list soon, I am really looking forward to it as I have been playing around with Sydri and just loving her.

As am I. To be honest I hadn't really bothered too much with Sydri as a commander since I unknowingly wrote her off as just a slightly better Karn who is harder to cast, but I later was amazed at the reliability she can bring without drawing the hate that say Oloro or Sharuum would. That, and I'm kind of a sucker for the less played commanders. Your deck took my love of different commanders, my love of control/combos and my love of artifacts and turned them all into one.

Best of luck to you with your real life issues.

Deck is coming together nicely. However, while looking at some newer cards I noticed a potential EDH General that I've been trying to break ever since I saw him. He may actually be taking the place of sydri. Also I have built about 5 EDH decks in the past 3 weeks. Gonna post those soon hopefully. As for sydri I put her together using this deck list and still just blow people away. Not to toot my own horn but it really is a bastard to play against. Message me if you wish me to write up more of my deck lists. I'm here for you guys after all :P
