A Pauper Plus casual format deck from the Shadows over Innistrad block. Since investigate didn't make a return in Eldritch Moon this deck uses only cards from SOI. Massive clue generation, so card advantage is a thing. This was my favorite of the limited archetypes from SoI! Total cost is around $6 and foiled around $13.
This deck functions as a token machine through your clue generators:
Byway Courier which generates a clue upon dying.
Drownyard Explorers which generates a clue upon ETB.
Ongoing Investigation which allows you to exile creatures from your graveyard to grant two life and a clue token.
Confront the Unknown which can be a useful combat trick. Generates a clue, then gives target creature +1/+1 for each clue you control.
Jace's Scrutiny which gives target creature -4/-0 and generates a clue. Another nifty combat trick when used properly.
Using these generators along with the following engines can allow things to get out of hand quickly:
Erdwal Illuminator generates an additional clue upon your first investigate of the turn, quickly flooding the board with clues!
Fleeting Memories not only generates a clue upon ETB, but each time one is sacrificed you can mill your opponent for three cards!
Graf Mole grants three life each time you sacrifice a clue, with multiples out and multiple clue sacrifices you can get a vast lead quickly!
Ulvenwald Mysteries makes it so whenever a creature damages an opponent you investigate, and also create a 1/1 white soldier token upon sacrificing a clue. With the amount of clue generation this can be overwhelming!
The last few cards that might not seem they fit are as follows:
Furtive Homunculus is a 2/1 with skulk, allowing it to get a cheap shot here and there for Ulvenwald Mysteries to trigger!
Loam Dryad allows you to ramp into some spells quicker, and makes great use of the soldier token you generate!
Non Pauper-Plus upgrades:
Tamiyo's Journal auto clue generation and tutoring at the price of three clues, but for no Mana!
Tireless Tracker a great body with incredible upside as it grows bigger per clue sacrificed and generates a clue each land play!
Confirm Suspicions is a high cost counterspell that investigates three times upon resolving. Quick clue generation for late game!
Dual lands would also help to make this deck run smoother!
