Global Series: Mu Yanling and Jiang Yanggu

3/8/20: I added Mu Yanling, Sky Dancer
I bought the set just for the fun of it. I play tested and made minor upgrades. I didn't go all out to upgrade it. This is a $12 to $13 budget friendly casual deck.
Let's get started with introducing Mu Yanling.
Mu Yanling isn't a horrible Planeswalker in my opinion. 5 Loyalty for 6 CMC.
What sets Mu Yanling apart from Jiang Yanggu is none of her abilities need to be used in conjunction with another ability nor are any of them obsolete after being used once.
Her +2 is not bad. Making a target creature unblockable can always come in handy.
Her -3 isn't bad either. Yeah it is -3 but it does get you two cards.
Her -10 is sweet but you have to keep her alive for four turns to do it. That's easier said than done in Magic.
Let's move on to the creatures. Specifically the ones getting cut.
WOTC stated that these decks were created specifically to imbue Magic with Chinese mythology and culture. As with the Jiang deck I upgraded that might go out the window with new upgrades. Let's get started.
Armored Whirl Turtle and Nine-Tail White Fox meet the chopping block first. This makes room for a play set of Tempest Djinn. For the same CMC we get a flying creature that gets larger in power everytime you play an island.
Vivid Flying Fish and Welkin Tern will fly away. But we will replace them with Vodalian Arcanist. I figure Merfolk are everywhere and it's hard to find a mana baby in blue.
Stormcloud Spirit is going to get cut for two Cloudreader Sphinx.
All other creatures are safe from the chopping block until I do more play testing.
Let's move on to instants, sorceries and enchantments.
Brilliant Plan will be replaced by Unwind. We're in the colors for counter spells so that's what we're going to do.
Cloak of Mists and Qilin's Blessing will be replaced with Syncopate. We are sticking with counter spells.
Meandering River will be removed to add three copies of Rescue and one Oath of Teferi.
In Conclusion.
The deck is designed to be midrange with the creatures being mostly flyers. Additional counter spells have been added to keep your fly boys alive.
