I first started playing MTG back in high school, thanks in part to a math teacher who kept boxes of extra cards that anyone could pull from for free. One of the cards I found in there was an Iron Maiden.

It was so different from all the other cards that I'd seen up to that point, I just had to make a deck around it. Since it sucked on people's decks and was mostly blue, it got named after a certain intern and her stained dress.

Hey, it was current at the time. XD

It was a fun deck, but it wasn't until years later when I could make the theme complete and add a splotch of white to stain the blue, thanks to Ghostly Prison.

Low brow name aside, this can be a surprisingly formidable deck in group games. It works great if you're playing as the Archenemy, and if you can team it up with a creatureless mill deck it can be very fun in Two Headed Giant.

Or maybe I've just got rose tinted goggles on when it comes to this deck. The scent of nostalgia after reviving it years later, it's almost cloying. Usually you come across decks you built when first starting out and they are either clumsy or just plain underpowered even by modern kitchen table standards, but this one... This one's still fun.

So how's it work?

Don't think of it as a mill deck. You might be able to win that way, but the majority of the time you'll be dealing damage based on keeping your opponents' hands full, using Iron Maiden, Viseling, and Ebony Owl Netsuke.

Propaganda and Ghostly Prison discourage people from attacking you, while Overburden makes even playing creatures difficult.

Prosperity can be used to kill the entire table, since players don't discard until the end of their turn.

This isn't a deck to play every time, and it's not like it's a difficult deck to beat if someone is prepared for it. But it's one that is both budget and stylish.

Recommended for anyone who likes to cackle evilly.

And c'mon, Prosperity as a kill spell outside of a mill deck. :D
