Maybe you can cut 2 Mountain for 2 other things. Because the highest CMC is only 3 so..

Loved the flavor and the cost!

Thanks hfvalenz, I'm glad you enjoyed it! By the way this deck is only the 2nd of three Aggro hyperbudget decks in a series I'm doing. If you'd like, check out the first at What does U.S.M.C. stand for? ($15 Aggro).

Thanks for the suggestion ThisIsTheSix! Unfortunately, I originally had 20 lands for the same reason, but increased the number after many playtests. But, I have changed the cards up a bit, so I'll definitely playtest some more to see if going down to 20 would be good. If I do cut two, I'll most likely add in two more Taste for Mayhem.

Thanks guys! :)

Of course I get a modern aggro deck, something I hate and know nothing about, I guess Claws of Valakut would work as well as Spikeshot Elder maybe.

i think you need some removal..How about lightning bolt or and skullcrack? just for clearbord

Thanks demonicpower! I'll definitely run some playtests with your suggestions to see how they go.

Well, the thing is akaniu96, is that this is a hyperbudget and is already at $15. Lightning Bolt was originally in the deck, but I swapped it out for its creature counterpart Spark Elemental to lower the cost. Ditto for Skullcrack. Plus, you are going to be attacking every turn, so if they block their creature is more likely to die, and that serves as some removal.

Let me know if you guys have any more suggestions, and thanks again to both of you!

:)

Could Assault Strobe work in here? Double strike is very deadly if your opponent doesn't declare blockers and then they get hit by a very strong creature.

Assault Strobe definitely could work here. I'll just have to run some play tests with it first to see how it goes.

Thanks for the suggestion Figag! :)

can't see what to take out, but Ordeal of Purphoros is definitely aggro and a 25 cent card.

Thanks a lot ohmless! I'll definitely run some playtests with Ordeal of Purphoros to see how it goes. Thanks again!

just purchased most of the cards from this deck, cant wait!

May 25, 2015 11:33 a.m.

I just did too! For only $8 because I already have some of the cards! * fist bump *

May 25, 2015 12:37 p.m.

@mikeicke, have you run any playtests? If so, what turn do you usually win by?

May 25, 2015 12:38 p.m.

mikeicke says... #14

on average by turn 5-6, I honestly cant say how many times but it was quite a bit lol. every once and a while it will spike up to around turn 9 or drop to a turn 3-4 but it stays pretty consistent around 5-6.

I didn't have any of them, this was in standard right before I started playing mtg, but all of my friends play casual or modern so that's a good thing, cant wait to drop these new decks on them.

May 25, 2015 1 p.m.

Yeah, my friends and I play casual and modern.

I too got a very consistent turn 5 or turn 6 win. I think the longest I went to was turn 8. Turn 4 was uncommon for me, but I got it at least 1 out of 6 times.

I'm really glad you like the deck. That's why O build budget, to give others a fun inexpensive deck to play. I hope that the deck plays really well!

The one upgrade is Lightning Bolt, I know it is not the cheapest thing, but it is the best red card in modern.

May 27, 2015 7:47 p.m.

@TreeCat, I originally ran Lightning Bolt in here, but swapped it out for its creature counterpart Spark Elemental.

:)

TreeCat says... #19

Whats the advantage of Spark Elemental? I suppose trampling over a blocker, but being able to choose anything let's you kill Tarmogoyf, Liliana of the Veil, and any mana ramper.

May 27, 2015 9:38 p.m.

The advantage is $$$$$$$$$$$$. Running a set of Lightning Bolts would render the deck no longer a hyperbudget.

:)

TreeCat says... #21

Maybe one of it's cheaper cousins, Rift Bolt or Lava Spike?

May 28, 2015 7:48 a.m.

Welp..... >_< those are also $2 cards.......

Oh! I know! I can add 2 Lightning Bolt to sideboard, and 2 to main board! That'd mean the deck would still be hyperbudget! Oh yeah!!,

:) thank you.

CCCA is now in effect! Wooooooooo!

22 is too many mountains for Red Deck Wins. Average CMC is 1.53. You can get away with 19 mountains I reckon. With the spots saved, suggest some burn spells to remove blockers or send to the dome. Now Lightning Bolt and Rift Bolt is too expensive for your budget. How about Wild Slash? You should be able to turn on ferocious due to your aura's and pumps on your creatures to make it pretty decent.

June 18, 2015 5:54 p.m.

Thanks Clawed6! I'll make sure to run some playtests with it and see how it goes!

Thanks again! :)
