Jimmy_Chinchila thanks. I like that dragon but I don't own any at the moment. I want to give it a shot some time though. Outpost Siege kind of fills the same role for me.

This deck seems far too slow for a burn deck. You have no 1 drops such as Monastery Swiftspear or Wild Slash. Don't overlook Abbot of Keral Keep. Chandra, Fire of Kaladesh  Flip isn't a bad option, cuz when it goes off it goes off but may interrupt what you're trying to accomplish. Outpost Siege, at least one, should be mainboarded. I saw a deck that ran only 4 copies of both Monastery Swiftspear and Abbot of Keral Keep as their creatures, 3 Pyromancer's Goggles and an array of burn spells. It went 6-3 at the SCG Open Chicago.

i really really really like where this is going. splashing black for Crackling Doom seems utterly fantastic, even against esper control.

do the goggles let you copy any spell with a red mana symbol? such as Crackling Doom, Dreadbore (for a modern deck that i run) etc?

Tfthoresen- Yes Goggles let you copy any spell with a red mana symbol, so if you use it to cast Crackling Doom or Dreadbore you get to copy it...which is why this is awesome!

rochdalekilla9 this deck is not looking to win fast. It can occasionally with the right hand and cooperation from the opponent but typically you are looking to control the board early and then finish big after getting set up. It's not your typical burn strategy but burn spells are the main source of control and the win con. From my experience with Goggles so far I'd say you don't really gain an advantage until you use it twice. Using it three or more times is when it starts providing game winning advantage. For that reason I think it is better in a control deck than an aggro strategy but there is merit to both.

Tfthoresen thanks and yup black seems great here. I made the swap after FNM for a tournament on Saturday but ended up not being able to attend. Updated the list and I'll be trying it out tonight! The Goggles do work like you assume. That's why I find Steam Augury cast with Goggles so intriguing as it should net 4-5 cards at instant speed for 4 mana.

Just a note, Pyromancer's Goggles doesn't copy any spell with a red mana symbol, they copy any spell that is either an instant or sorcery and is a red spell, a counterexample to this is that this card would have no effect on Ghostfire

kylarbandurzo- you are correct in saying Ghostfire would not be able to be copied. But no one would ever attempt to copy it because it is a terrible card! Lol...but thank you for clarifying!
