Soul Sisters and Reducing CMC —April 11, 2018

After removing the Soul Sisters a while back, I found that the deck missed having them. They offer subtle, incremental advantage which is exactly what the deck wants to do. I'm using life as a resource and they help cushion my life total for the long game. I've also reduced the overall CMC of the deck as it was creeping up and the deck functions better being lower to the ground. Here are the changes:

Night's Whisper + Angel of Despair ---> Soul Warden + Soul's Attendant: The deck had too many higher CMC reanimation targets so I'm cutting Angel of Despair again to be closer to the ground and make room for the Soul Sisters.

Debtors' Knell ---> Phyrexian Reclamation: I really, really WANT to love Debtor's Knell. It's such a cool design for a card. Unfortunately too often I would tap out for 7 mana and then get very little value from it as I would have to wait a full turn cycle to even get one activation. Sheoldred also requires waiting but at least you get a 6/6 body and an edict effect out of the deal. Phyrexian Reclamation is dirt cheap and can be used right away

Swords to Plowshares ---> Utter End: with the removal of Angel of Despair, I want to make sure I have enough spells that can remove any permanent. Utter End is a little pricey but I want its versatility.

Sign in Blood ---> Ob Nixilis Reignited: Sign in Blood and Night's Whisper are fine, but the deck tends to win in the long game. I wanted another repeatable card draw engine. My commander has deathtouch so Ob Nixilis won't be too hard to protect. I will try him out and maybe swap in Bloodgift Demon as another option.

Ravenous Chupacabra ---> Fleshbag Marauder: On the fence about which of these I like better in the deck. I think having an edict effect is more helpful though as the deck has a lot of other ways to kill creatures.
