Creatures:
Ghalta is a powerhouse and can be brought out super quick due to Gigantasaurus. Great with
Rabid Bite
to pick off annoying blockers.
Contributes heavily to
Ghalta.
Great turn 2 play with the help of
Llanowar Elves
. Cannot be blocked by pesky tokens, so against token heavy decks, throwing a
Blanchwood Armor
on it can slip damage through.
Keeps drawing into more cards, and oftentimes you will keep chaining creatures and fill your board extremely quickly.
Just ramps. Should always be your first play if you have one in hand. Also (technically) pays for 2 for
Ghalta.
Primary target for
Stony Strength
to turn it on ASAP.
Interesting line of play: Tap
Incubation Druid
to cast
Stony Strength
, and then you can tap it again for 3 green.
Allows access to 5 mana going into turn 3 with the help of
Llanowar Elves
. Leaves behind a 1/1 body, which can be used for a blocker or to help cast
Ghalta.
This is my favorite card in the deck. Normally, GGGGG is a hefty casting cost, but in mono-G, its not that hard. A 10/10 for 5 mana is great! With
Gigantosaurus
and
Ghalta
in hand, you can have 22 power for 7 mana (with 2 other total power on the board, probably from
Llanowar Elves
and
Elvish Rejuvenator
).
Gets really powerful, really quickly. And getting access to trample makes him insanely good when paired with
Blanchwood Armor
.
