A little better than court street denizen(2nd choice). We've got a messy start to this draft. It looks like people want to go white here, though I think we should have gone simic the whole time. It's open and we've seen solid picks go by. At this point, I could see this crowd going orzhov with a splash of boros, and (unfortunately) junking the gyre sage.

So I think there is room to go for a red splash card.

Gotta take the removal.

Court Street Denizen quite a powerful card, hard to pass up considering some our choices so far. It seems the others are passing along the white, but it doesn't mean we should be too committed to it.

Mugging is my pick.

I like Court Street Denizen . Mugging would also be nice. We need cheap spells. Curve > all. I vote Mugging .

Off topic: I love the idea of mugging and extorting someone at the same time. Take ALL the money!

Also I love the flavor fail that exists when an Armored Transport is killed by a Mugging . Isn't the entire point of armoring a transport the prevention of, you know, people forcibly taking money and/or goods?

What is with people's aversion to removal? First passing Orzhov Charm for Syndic, now an argument for anything but Mugging? Court Street Denizen is indeed a reasonable aggressive Boros 3-drop. Mugging is one of the best commons in the format and seeing it 5th pick is as sure a red signal as we're going to get.

@ratchet1215 I don't see anyone arguing AGAINST Mugging , just some people preferring the Denizen over it. Right now, by my count, the vote is a six to six tie.

REVISION: I sound like an ass in my last comment, ignore me. Given what we've done so far Court Street is actually a very reasonable pick. I stand by Mugging though; red really does seem open.

Court Street Denizen is a fine creature, but we're not in a position to prioritize it over solid removal.

Mugging I think. It's a tough call, but I'm not a fan of the denizen. Most of the time it is just a 2/2 for 3, which doesn't work great with the extort strategy. But it does work really well with the boros plan, which at that point, why not grab the mugging?

Mugging for me. Even if we don't run with it, it's a card that robs most of our critter's lives.

Leaning towards the Denizen.

I'll go with Mugging and hope we get some good boros cards on the third pack. We can definitely make a good Naya or WBR deck, both are excellent color combos in this set and we've seen some good cards go by. Hopefully we'll see similar choices second or third pack.

Let's go with Mugging . It's solid removal.

Also helps with stalemates to get those few points of damage in if they have a key blocker.
