Storm Crow in Shadows Over Innistrad?

Spoilers, Rumors, and Speculation forum

I am really not one to repeat rumors, but I heard that Wizards is thinking of giving us back the eternally broken and utterly terrifying Storm Crow for Shadows over Innistrad. I do not know if this is true, but can you imagine the epic battles between Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and Storm Crow?

I am now really looking forward to this set.

I'm not sure, I think Storm Crow is too powerful for Standard.

JWiley129, yeah it would be better for them to reprint Liliana of the Veil or Snapcaster Mage to keep it fair.

Maybe even Black Lotus.

I would literally quit magic if they reprinted Storm Crow in standard. Especially when Gurmag Swiftwing is legal. How the fuck do you beat that combination? smh

TheAnnihilator - Good News: Gurmag Swiftwing will rotate out when SOI comes out.

Bad News: Mist Intruder will still be in Standard when SOI comes out.

JWiley129, Mist Intruder is no problem. Storm Crow is blue. Mist Intruder is distinctly not blue. It is the blue cards which are especially nasty.

I'm fine with Storm Crow getting reprinted. I'm fine with Razor Boomerang getting reprinted. I'm even fine with Mindless Null getting reprinted.

But Chimney Imp?

KillDatBUG, Razor Boomerang is all well and good as long as they do not reprint Myr Galvanizer and Silver Myr. I mean, do you remember how screwed Standard got when people would routinely get two active Myr Galvanizer, any mana-producing Myr, and had Razor Boomerang in Hand? It was wretched! It was just as bad as two Myr Retriever, Disciple of the Vault, and Krark-Clan Ironworks.

Chimney Imp was a house! Only five mana for all of that! I doubt it will be too long before Chimney Imp, Rally the Ancestors, and Nantuko Husk are making waves at the pro tour.

Has anyone else heard about the MTG pro who was arrested at a tournament? He played a second Storm Crow when he already had one on the battlefield. The judge ruled it attempted murder.

alanwescoat says... #14

Sorry, the Myr Galvanizer/Razor Boomerang loop needed TWO active mana-producing my or Palladium Myr.

Epic battles? Emrakul doesn't stand a chance...especially when Storm Crow teams up with the Giant Octopus, everybody knows that giant octopus want to be the sole-tentacle bearing monstrosity in the multiverse. Everybody truly endangered...how's that for an epic story line?

smackjack says... #16

We need an answer to Eldrazi and they print a much bigger problem. Next pro tour will be all Storm(crow) decks :/

Why is everyone acting as if Storm Crow is such an awesome card? Both Seacoast Drake and Hovermyr are better than it in any conceivable situation, so I would rather see those cards reprinted, instead.

Player3.14 says... #21

It's a tradition. While Storm Crow is really an awful card, people talk of it as though it wins you the game on turn 1. Chimney Imp, on the other hand...

rorofat says... #22

It's an old magic meme.

Chimney Imp vs Storm Crow imp wins every time

JWiley129 says... #23

Except Storm Crow is better in all situations. You can pitch it to Force of Will!

Storm Crow, Mist Intruder, AND Gurmag Swiftwing!!!

BRING ON STORM CROW WINTER!!!

February 22, 2016 9:55 p.m.

alanwescoat says... #25

Mist Intruder and Gurmag Swiftwing are not in the same class as Storm Crow. Storm Crow is blue. Mist Intruder and Gurmag Swiftwing are not blue. There is no comparison. You cannot pitch either of them to Force of Will. Storm Crow enables Force of Will because it is blue, making it a genuinely superior card.
