Melee doesn't trigger for creatures that are put on the battlefield tapped and attacking:
508.4. If a creature is put onto the battlefield attacking, its controller chooses which defending player or which planeswalker a defending player controls its attacking as it enters the battlefield (unless the effect that put it onto the battlefield specifies what its attacking). Such creatures are attacking but, for the purposes of trigger events and effects, they never attacked.

So how about that new Equipment:
Spy Gear
Artifact - Equipment (uncommon)
Equipped creature gets +1/+1 and has all names of nonlegendary creature cards in addition to its name.
Equip

What.
Will nonlegendary names be relevant?
So lost. But excited.
August 17, 2016 8:51 a.m.
I'm guessing it's so your commander can be Relentless Rats #45?
August 17, 2016 8:55 a.m.
@kanokarob, yes. Most of the conspiracies have Hiseen Agenda or Double Agenda. That just help make it do better when you turn them over.
@kengiczar, Yep, without nonlegendary, that card would be OP in Commander, especially with Shadowborn Apostle.

Keeper of Keys
3UU
Creature - Human Rogue Mutant (Rare)
When Keeper of Keys enters the battlefield, you become the monarch.
At the beginning of your upkeep, if you are the monarch, creatures you control cant be blocked this turn.
For the right price, he'll unlock your path to the throne.
4/4
August 17, 2016 9:20 a.m.
Also (catching up a page), Keeper of Key's looks like trap city to me. Such a bulls-eye on your back for that turn. The Edric, Spymaster of Trest synergy is strong though.
August 17, 2016 9:24 a.m.
Huh, you guys are slacking on this.

New Sultai commander is nice. And pinging Epochalyptik for obvious reasons.
August 17, 2016 11:09 a.m.
I was just coming here to post about Leovald.
Love it. It's not straight up simic, but I love anything where you can play politics.
"Diplomatic Immunity!"
August 17, 2016 11:12 a.m.
Beat you guys to building a deck with him.
He's not my style, but if I ever need a cutthroat deck, he's a powerful choice.
EDIT: Ok, I'm second. I'm getting slow these days...
August 17, 2016 11:24 a.m. Edited.
Spy Gear is everything I always wanted. And doesn't this mess with some mechanics in odd ways? What about meld? What about turning two random equipment into creatures and equipping them with these, then using Helm of Kaldera?
Wizards have it out for Brothers Yamakazi players confirmed.
As a sidenote, Mask of the Mimic.
August 17, 2016 11:25 a.m.
hmm looks like D&T gets more toys in this set, and one that can be found with Recruiter of the Guard..

Chalice on anything for 3 mana? 2/2?!
August 17, 2016 11:41 a.m. Edited.
It was in conspiracy 1 as well right?
Edit: no sorry it was the other 1 mana one.
August 17, 2016 11:54 a.m. Edited.
So I really love the new Daretti card, but is there really any kind of deck where he'd be super useful? RB Artifacts isn't something I know of existing or at least being strong enough to exist.
August 17, 2016 11:57 a.m.
ChiefBell It was only ever printed in Stronghold (until now). Hey, TappedOut, how expensive is it? Burgeoning. Why, it's a chase rare. Seems like it should be banned in commander, but I don't think it is.
August 17, 2016 noon
ChiefBell You're thinking of Exploration This set is amazing already. Now I'm feeling good about a Damnation reprint.
August 17, 2016 noon
Holy Good Reprints, Batman! This might outdo the original Conspiracy. Maybe not, we'll see.
August 17, 2016 12:01 p.m.
I would be incredibly amused if most of the rest of the cards are bulk. This stuff happens.
August 17, 2016 12:06 p.m.
SirFowler: Dack was just reprinted in Eternal Masters.
August 17, 2016 12:12 p.m.
Daretti lost a lot of power after the mending. He's so... not worth it.
Burgeoning reprint is crazy, and at rare as opposed to mythic. Excited.
August 17, 2016 12:13 p.m.
Tell me: would you prefer having a ~$40 mythic or a $30 rare in a set?
You know, I find Kaya's flavor terrible in many ways and decent in others. But the least flavorful thing about her is that the only way she can take care of Bravo is by blinking him. And, ironically, his decks are built around blinking. Nice one, Wizards.
August 17, 2016 12:18 p.m.
DarkLaw you talking to me?
I thought I was pretty clear, I'm excited it's rare and not mythic. So, answer should be obvious, I'd rather the $30 mythic.
Yeah, Kaya had some problems with her implementation.
August 17, 2016 12:42 p.m.
$30 rare*
Also, as above image appears to be broken.

Does spy kit copy abilities or just the name? Because i know it works with hidden agenda but are there cards outside of consoiracy it works with

Artifacts at times are so strong in edh so daretti is amazing no matter what, not as game ending as the original daretti but still strong. I remember the first time i played against burgeoning the guyvhad 5 lands by his 2nd turn.....
August 17, 2016 12:56 p.m.
I want to add Sanctum Prelate to T/O card database, but i have no idea where to do it. Help?
August 17, 2016 12:59 p.m.
Daedalus19876 says... #39
davidsays1: Only the name. I can't find a way to abuse it - though it does cause the card to be bounced with Echoing Truth or exiled with Declaration in Stone.
August 17, 2016 1:24 p.m.
Daedalus19876 says... #40
DarkLaw: It probably should be banned in Commander. But it's not, so I want one now XD
August 17, 2016 1:26 p.m.
The problem with the Spy Gear is that it only has the name of every creature, but it doesn't have the creature type. So wouldn't stuff like Declaration not effect it due to the fact it says it exiles all "creatures" of the same name?
August 17, 2016 1:36 p.m.
Daedalus19876 says... #42
SirFowler: The equipped creature gets the names, not the equipment itself :) It's the reversed Runed Stalactite.
August 17, 2016 1:40 p.m.
Daedalus19876 says... #44
SirFowler: Ugh, he sucks.
On the other hand...we don't need ANOTHER broken Daretti, so maybe that's the best thing that could have happened.
August 17, 2016 2 p.m.
Mask of the Mimic is actually the best way to abuse Spy Gear. Here, read the Oracle text:
"As an additional cost to cast Mask of the Mimic, sacrifice a creature.
Search your library for a card with the same name as target nontoken creature and put that card onto the battlefield. Then shuffle your library."
Just cheat in an Emrakul or Griselbrand. You pick.
August 17, 2016 2:03 p.m.
I'd sure like to copy Blightsteel Colossus 3 times, if Daretti lives that long that is. Also, I wonder
artifacts are gonna be a thing.
August 17, 2016 2:05 p.m.
DarkLaw It only has all names of non legendary creatures. However, have a Mirror Gallery, then bam. Wait...does the gallery only apply to what's on the field?
August 17, 2016 2:10 p.m. Edited.
Daedalus19876 says... #49
DarkLaw: I wish I could hug you over the internet. You could also abuse Bifurcate in mono-green. SirFowler is correct that you can only grab non-legendaries that way, but Mask of the Mimic+(Spy Gear) is basically a janky Tinker to grab Blightsteel Colossus ;)
August 17, 2016 2:14 p.m.
Oh yeah, sorry. But hey, Inkwell, Blightsteel, etc. are all pretty solid targets. Anyone notice that they're all artifacts?
There's also Retraced Image, but that's just cheeky.
