So it begins. Apparently someone pulled a Portuguese Amonkhet card in a MM3 pack. Here it is. Amonkhet spoiler

Dusk 2WW

Sorcery

Destroy all creatures with power 3 or greater

Dawn 3WW

Sorcery

Consequence - cast this spell only from your graveyard. Then exile it.

Return all creatures with power less than or equal to 2 from your graveyard to your hand.

Apparently each God will have some form of downside to prevent them from swinging.

Hamster2558 says... #2

I could imagine the blue god will have something relevant to the amount of instant and sorcery cards in your graveyard. I like the idea, almost like the devotion with the theros gods. They cannot physically do anything until a certain thing has been met.

Rakdos seems like the best colors for cycling decks.

April 3, 2017 11:14 a.m.

Hardhitta7 says... #4

I like it, it will be very easy to make it a creature in a red deck. And a 5/4 haste and indestructible is very dec.

April 3, 2017 11:14 a.m.

AgentGreen says... #5

Hamster2558 I like that. Using that, here's my guesses

Cards in hand

Total power of creatures?

Life total?

Instant/Sorcery cards in the graveyard?

Creatures in the graveyard?

April 3, 2017 11:19 a.m.

Hardhitta7 says... #6

AgentGreen very good guesses! White may also be number of creatures? Especially since there is going to be white zombies now.

April 3, 2017 11:21 a.m.

LittleBlueHero says... #7

Yeah I was thinking:

: Number of Creatures

: Draw 2 or more cards

: If a creature you control died this turn

: Total power of creatures you control = X

Just Spitballing.

Just read that spoiler text... Definitely thinking white will be number of creatures.

April 3, 2017 11:28 a.m.

Guardians says... #10

AgentGreen nice guesses, but i doubt white will do life total unless the god has lifegin as it is hard to gain life now.

On a second note, will a mono red madness Lupine Prototype-god deck be playable?

April 3, 2017 11:35 a.m.

AgentGreen says... #11

Here's an interesting guess

White may be specific to Zombies. As in # of zombies you control. If this God is more interested in mummies, having zombies would be right up her alley

Dredge4life says... #12

Interesting how the God of Solidarity potentially cares about how many creatures you control.

Also, B/R Madness anyone?

April 3, 2017 11:46 a.m.

Definition of Solidarity:

"unity or agreement of feeling or action, especially among individuals with a common interest; mutual support within a group."

Welcome to the crew:

Also we have a new card sub-type: Cartouche,

April 3, 2017 11:54 a.m.

both those cards are fantastic by the way

Out of all the amonkhet spoilers, the most recent collection is kinda underwhelming. The God might work in my Tower of Combustion deck, and Anointer Priest looks ok, but other than that, eh. Then again, I am not a fan of limited formats, so maybe I'm wrong.

April 3, 2017 12:50 p.m. Edited.

The_Traitor says... #20

Are the Invocations legal in tournaments by the way? I mean the Borders aren't as required...

April 3, 2017 12:53 p.m.

Ceondoc says... #21

The_Traitor Yes because they would be promos in a sense.

April 3, 2017 12:55 p.m.

I thought Hazoret was meh when was spoiled...until we had all the Wheel effects. Yowch.

April 3, 2017 1:28 p.m.

AgentGreen says... #23

Ceondoc All invocations are legal in Limited and ONLY if you open them.

In Constructed they are legal in the format the original card is legal in. If the card you grab is Standard legal, you may use it, if it not, no dice

April 3, 2017 2:02 p.m.

Phaetion says... #24

Something just occurred to me. You could do Hazoret and 99 Mountains. Hmmm...

Blue enchantment spoiled on mythic spoiler

Trial of Knowledge

Enchantment

When Trial of Knowledge enters the battlefield, draw three cards, then discard a card.

When a Cartouche enters the battlefield under your control, return Trial of Knowledge to its owner's hand.

April 3, 2017 2:38 p.m.

I don't think it's been mentioned yet, but Cartouche of Solidarity could replace a few Hyena Umbras in Modern GW Hexproof fairly well to hedge against LotV or other edicts. It would depend if the meta is more LotV heavy or sweeper-heavy. I think it's a great option for that deck at least.

April 3, 2017 3:20 p.m.

Hamster2558 says... #27

GeminiSpartanX-It definitely will be a cheap replacement for Hyena Umbra when it comes to GW hexproof. It also allows you to add more things to give that cheap +1/+1 and first strike. It is not better when it comes to a normal deck such as heroic deck when they do not have hexproof to back up the fact that it has no totem armor

Homura_Akemi says... #28

If you look at the art for one of the gods and Trial of Knowledge, do you think naga will return as these snake people?

April 3, 2017 6:06 p.m.

Zaueski says... #29

Apparently when Amonkhet releases, Split cards like Dusk//Dawn and even older ones like Beck//Call are getting a serious nerf... They count as the combined mana costs everywhere but the stack so no more Expertise or Brain in a Jar cheating interactions.

April 3, 2017 10:42 p.m.

00xtremeninja haha ikr although i don't want to remove Grindclock for some -1/-1 counter stuff

or that oracle vault thing

April 3, 2017 10:47 p.m.

DemonDragonJ says... #32

I like Hazroet, but I would have preferred that she have first strike, rather than haste, so that she can avoid being destroyed by a creature with both first strike and infect or wither; perhaps the white god shall have first strike?

April 3, 2017 11:12 p.m.

Bovine073 says... #33

GeminiSpartanX

The pros and cons of the cartouche are as follows (in relation to the umbras)

Pros: Dodges Lili's -2, Makes Cartouche into Coronet a reasonable line of play when an opponent has a Spellskite, and somewhat dodges Engineered Explosives and Ratchet Bomb effects.

Cons: Wraths. And I believe the totem armors are slightly better at dodging EE and R-Bomb effects, because they leave you with a 1/1 Hexproof instead of a 1/1 (0 CMC) vigilance token. There are also some niche cases where you may have a bogle with double coronet and an umbra, in this case the umbra would be better than the cartouche.

I definitely think the cartouche will be a 3-4 of, but I do not want to cut all of the umbras. I may cut one Spirit Link and three umbras in my list.

shinobigarth says... #34

take a close look at the red god's Invocation card...

how do you know when the font you chose might be hard to read? when the name looks like it says "Hazoret the Pervert."

April 4, 2017 1:29 a.m.

Bovine073- I agree on all those reasons, which is why using the cartouche will be somewhat meta-dependent. I was thinking of doing a 3-4 split between cartouche and Spider Umbra, effectively removing Hyena Umbras from the list to try it out so you don't lose out on any first strike.

I'm really excited about this set, it's looking awesome. I was disappointed in the Master Pieces as I thought they were ugly, but they are way above my pay grade anyways.

I'm excited to see my girl Lili's card in the set.

Reading the article makes me wonder

Is Bolas going to have casting cost of ? That would be very strange turn of events

April 4, 2017 11:31 a.m.

My goodness that Channeler Initiate is fantastic, an early game mana dork that scales well into the late game! Also, I am surprised to see no one talking about this card:

It looks pretty darn powerful, especially with the Channeler or the Sacred Cat.

All of those monuments look fantastic for EDH (except the blue one).
