What are the differences between how 12-post and Tron play?

From what I know of the 2 decks they play extremely similar, are either of them strong where one is weak, or do they play completely differently and I just don't see why? For some reference, I wanna make the slaver build of whichever one I end up deciding on.

Bringing it down to the most basic principles, 12 post and tron are the same deck for different formats. They both use land fetches to assemple a combo to poop out eldrazi, wurmcoils, or other fatty boom-booms.
12 post is of course the legacy version, and tron is practically non-viable in legacy.
Both decks are more suited to their format's environments as well.

This is what I get for being tired and posting. Okay, slight modification, barring the cloudpost ban (my playgroup has a slightly different banlist which is why it didn't register for me), differences in playstyle? The difference in my group are cloudpost, rituals, dread return, and bloodbraid are unbanned, banned are Cranial Plating, grapeshot, gifts ungiven (the last 2 were as a result of the gifts storm deck I made not too long ago that lost maybe 3, 4 games in the 2 months I had it, it was stupid consistant and the playgroup is pretty casual), thoughtseize, and big daddy cthulhu are banned.
The meta is a couple scapeshift decks, 2 jund, an RDW splash G, tron, 12-post (and a bad build at that), and a couple guys can't keep a deck together for more than 2 weeks.

Now, since this is in the modern forum, i'll assume that that's the format you want to play, so you really have 2 options; GR and Blue.
GR is all-in on assembling the tron lands, using board wipes like Pyroclasm and Oblivion Stone to defend yourself until you can get there.
Blue plays more of a control style, that uses counterspells like Condescend and Remand , alongside Solemn Simulacrum to ramp and wurmcoils to finish the job. It also has the added benefit of being able to Mindslaver lock people with Academy Ruins .
There's different builds to each archetype, so just do some research and find which one you like.

There are also UW, UR, Mono-Green (relatively unpopular) and Mono-Black (the least popular) variants, which you can check out.
UW goes for a Gifts Ungiven control setup with removal, Snapcaster Mage , wrath effects and finishes with Unburial Rites + fatties which they can cast from time to time.
UR plays Through the Breach and is more combo-centric, that's as much as I know.
Mono-G is just a worse RG, but it has more space to fit other cards which I am too lazy to look up.
Mono-B Tron. I've literally only seen it once.

I'm not gonan lie, I kinda like the mono black build. It looks weird and interesting and very, very brewable. I'd still run 12 eggs to play the almighty titan though.

Seeing how this is in the modern forum, I feel the need to remind you that Cloudpost is banned here.
If you play Cloudpost in legacy, Candelabra of Tawnos is a definite.
