Is there any way to evade echo?

The best way I have found of evading echo is to flicker the card with something like Ghostly Flicker . But then you still have to pay the echo the next upkeep because it came back under your control again.

I am just curious if there is a way to have a solid evasion of echo.

You could counter the trigger with something like Trickbind or Stifle .

The only ways I can think of avoiding echo is Eon Hub , Thick-Skinned Goblin and Sundial of the Infinite

interesting. I didn't know a card existed that tould skip the upkeep step.

Seems like the best way I see is to counter the echo.

hmmm, any other thoughts?

I like Sundial of the Infinite ... lol I do see other defensive advantages from using it.

Cloudstone Curio and another creature in the same turn the creature with echo entered the battlefield. Return it to hand and start it all over next turn.

Thran Turbine was specifically made to pay for Cycling and Echo costs. You still end up having to pay colored mana on stuff like Albino Troll , but Thran Turbine offsets a lot of the costs. Plus, you can always use the mana later if you play cards Gemstone Array or Kruphix, God of Horizons .

@nickiru Yeah Sundial of the Infinite has some truly ridiculous interactions. One of my favorite being with Sedris, the Traitor King , to never have to exile the creatures you recur. It can do really wonky things. You can also use Eon Hub combined with cumulative upkeep cards to never have to pay. It probably won't win you any tournaments anytime soon, but boy is it fun! You can go deep with Cover of Winter + snow lands, Dystopia becomes The Abyss kind of. Elephant Grass can be horribly hard to get through, especially in duplicates. Glacial Chasm can just stop everything for a while till you get something else going.

Yah, I like your comments. They are thought provoking. The reason I ask is, well...

here: http://tappedout.net/mtg-questions/can-flickering-a-card-with-echo-avoid-echo/ Deep into it a bit is the confersation about Avalanche Riders and junk. I want to destroy lands efficiently; essentially...

I forgot to mention this but, I would like modern cards. I can't afford other formats, so I stick with modern. Most of your suggestions are, save a few.

Thanks :D This is helpful.

Since you're already running red Thick-Skinned Goblin seems like your best bet.

OOooo, that straight up cancels echo.

I run all colors so don't hold back xD, don't be concerned because of cost, I want any card.
