I started playing MTG between the original Mirrodin and Kamigawa blocks. A couple of years ago my buddy introduced me to the commander format. I never looked back. We still do play some 60 card Magic but it's mostly commander these days.
The first deck I ever built was a burn deck. It has evolved into Trogdor, the Burninator (Kudos to you if you know who Trogdor is). It started out as the 8th edition red precon. I used to run some really bad cards in it (such as Volcanic Hammer). That little guy has been with me from the start in one form or another so I will never tear it apart.
If I had to choose a favorite block I would say the original Ravnica or the original Mirrodin. Lots of good memories from those days :-) Historically, my favorite card has been Lightning Bolt, however I've developed an obsession with Lotleth Troll. I'm a big fan of the Golgari guild. My favorite deck is my commander deck Karador's Reanimation Station. I'm slowly making it more tournament quality, although I have noticed the better it gets the less fun it is to play. Comes with the territory I suppose.
