Changes based on local meta

Commander Deck Help forum

So I've been wanting to make some changes in my Aurelia deck to have more interaction and effect on my local meta. Cards that I've been considering adding in are From the Ashes , Hero of Bladehold , and Vandalblast

My reasoning for From the Ashes is because I have a few three color decks in my local group and a five color deck that runs no basic lands and tends to win a lot by ramping until he can get Approach of the Second Sun off twice in one turn. I also want to have it in the deck for it's interaction with Emeria Shepherd to potentially get a lot of stuff out of my graveyard from the landfall triggers.

Other than that Hero of Bladehold is something I've wanted to test to make the deck faster and Vandalblast is primarily for the mass artifact destruction to simply have some more interaction.

Here is my decklist and I would really appreciate some feedback on what I could potentially swap out.

I just looked at you list. Never mind any of that. You need card draw big time.

I agree with the above comment, your deck needs lots of card draw.

Boros Locket - Budget ramp and draw

Lapse of Certainty - Just fun with sunforger, no1 expects it. Just cute

Magus of the Wheel - Card draw

Wheel of Fortune - Expensive but better card draw

Wheel of Fate - Conditional wheel

Reforge the Soul - Conditional wheel

Scroll Rack - Cute with land tax and wheels.

Regarding your meta choices, keep in mind that adjusting to the meta is always a good and healthy thing. Putting in 1 card because it messes with 1 particular deck is another, not including the potential benefit it can give you. Moreover, MLD, even if it gives basics can still make people mad. Make sure your playgroup is ok with it. Not saying I would be mad, but you never know regarding some people.

It's an unpopular opinion. But I really enjoy LD and even MLD when it is only targeting nonbasic lands. I run a lot of basics for budget purposes. I find it adds a little spice to the game and encourages others to not just run max efficiency land bases. Wave of Vitriol is one of my favorite cards. As long as you not getting too much hate for it, I'm totally on board with From the Ashes here to re-assert yourself at a table that has gotten ahead of you.
