Just a casual deck to play with your freinds, I tried to keep most of the cards in it to being printed prior to 2008. Kind of wanted some old school feel to it if that makes sense, I started playing around Kamigawa, left the game at various points as most do. However, one of my earliest experiences with magic was in Elementary school around 2004, I played a deck of assorted cards, that was primarily mono-black. It was an altered version of the Rat's Nest Precon, with Hypnotic Specters, and Dark Rituals added. It made me fall in love with the game, and that iconic beta hippie art. I recently had to sell my magic collection, which included legacy BUG delver, and Deadguy Ale, with many of the cards being revised edition dual lands, and my playset of Force of Wills, all of which I'd held onto since Jr. High in 2011. I turned a profit on them sure, but the sentimental value is what I truly lost.

This was due to a bad breakup, losing my voice for several months after an injury while singing, and the death of a few family members around the same time (Roughly a month before the breakup), which lead to an extreme case of depression. I fell behind on my bills, and I needed the cash. I hope to buy the cards back, ideally if any price drops happen, or hopefully I can play with proxies of them at my locals at some point in the near future. I miss the friends I made along the way, and for now, this is the deck I will play, to recapture some of those magic years from summers and school playgrounds long ago. It borrows from Death and Taxes, the first legacy deck I built, and piloted at GP Vegas, to some surprising results for a novice at the time. As well as to many top 8 finishes at my legacy locals, which for many years hosted often times 60 wonderful people, who were passionate about the game, and I miss dearly as many have moved on. I hope that you all give the deck a try, and maybe you find it fun, and for those with similar experiences it stirs some form of nostalgia within you. I tried to make it the right balance of powerful, flavorful, and fun, where it doesn't feel frustrating to play against, but you also don't feel like you're constantly outgunned by your opponent. No sideboard because most casual games are best of one. I hope you all enjoy my mono-black discard, devotion, black-weenie masterpiece, I know I do. Take out the Jitte's if your play environment isn't equipped to deal with it, but for the most part. Just enjoy.
