The goal with this deck was to make a pretty good affinity deck that could be played in modern and with friends at the lowest cost possible. That means cards like master of etherium and steel overseer are out of the budget range, so the best option was to go for white affinity on this sort of budget. 2 colors is not really an option since dual lands are outside the budget, and just blue or just red aren't as good as mono white. The red version could be good with galvanic blast, atog, and shrapnel blast, but I found the mass creatures plus tempered steel to be a better route.
