Top 8 Finish! —June 28, 2013
Finished in the top 8 at my local game store tonight with a record of 3-1.
Round 1 vs Bant Enchantments- Ended up winning 2-1 Game one I ended up losing from a enchanted Invisible Stalker with 8 auras on it. Couldn't do much to stop it. Game two I won by throwing out a lot of creatures early on, and outran my opponent. Game 3 was similar to game 2, with my opponent getting mana screwed.
Round 2 vs Selesnya Aggro- I got my butt kicked royally losing 2-0. Game one I couldn't get anything out fast enough, while my opponent mana ramped into a Armada Wurm on turn 4. Then they bounced it with Restoration Angel followed by Thragtusk. I was over 2 turns afterwards. I wasn't able to draw into any removal whatsoever. Game 2 was the same way and I lost pretty quick.
Round 3 vs Naya Aggro- Managed to win this one 2-0 Game one I was fairly even for the most part until I managed to draw into back to back Vexing Devils and kept their field clear with Dreadbore and a overloaded Mizzium Mortar I then got Desecration Demon out and won the following turn. Game 2 my opponent was mana flooded for 4 turns, but kept me at bay with Huntmaster of the Fells Flip, Thragtusk]], and Restoration Angel I managed to top deck Mizzium Mortar, and blow up their field, and swing with 2 Desecration Demons and 3 Rakdos Shred-Freak. I then played Annihilating Fire to finish them off.
Round 4 vs Azorius Control- Finsihed the night strong by winning 2-0. Game one my opponent stalled by countering most of my early game threats, as well as most of my kill spells. Later in the match, they managed to get back to back Sphinx's Revelation to gain life and draw a crapload of cards. They then kept bouncing my creatures left and right for several turns, before I managed to get a bit of a foothold on the field. I eventually managed to get Blood Artist out, swing with my guys a couple turns, then draw into rakdos return for 10. Afterwards, I hit them for 7 with a Vexing Devil and a Rakdos Drake, followed by using 3 Dreadbore on each of my creatures for the win. Game two I had to mulligan twice before I got a decent hand. First few turns, my opponent kept bouncing my creatures until they got out a Geist of Saint Traft. I wasn't able to draw into a Mizzium Mortar and overload it to kill the geist. (damn you hexproof) They chipped away at my life for several turns with it, but luckily I managed to get a mortar and overloaded it. Several turns they couldn't do much, while I got out Desecration Demon and Rakdos, Lord of Riots. Two turns of me swinging with them sealed the deal.
Overall I'm proud of what the deck done tonight. I know there is still ways to make it even better and I'm gonna try and tweak it to make it the best it can be. As always, suggestions and +1's are appreciated.

The guildmage has been useful sometimes, but I've not used it's abilities that much when it's on the field.I've really considered Spike Jester . Another 2 drop with haste is always welcome, but my only concern with it is it doesn't have the hybrid mana like Rakdos Shred-Freak . For me personally that wouldn't be that big a of a problem since I've got plenty of duel lands for this. I'll most likely switch the guildmage for it, as I just mentioned, I don't use it a whole lot. Thanks for the suggestion.

What is your thoughts on Rakdos Shred-Freak vs Spike Jester . Myself personally don't like Rix Maadi Guildmage . Felt she just slowed me down when i can drop another 2 drop with haste and keep on the pressure.
