WhaleMaster30, thanks! Definitely check out the budget builds that were suggested.

Kai-Erik, thanks for the suggestions! Your equipment Voltron build looks good. I can see why you’d want to suggest those here, but as SynergyBuild stated, they don’t synergize well in this Auratron build. SynergyBuild is very familiar with how this deck operates/functions and we share similar views. So we can all trust his views on the matter will always look to protect and benefit this build.

SynergyBuild, as always, thank you for your quick responses and replies when I cannot get to them in a timely manner. The community and myself really appreciate it!

Kai-Erik I am sorry, I generally am on this website more often than Starsky2814, and so try to help answer a lot of his comments faster, as to allow other user to immediately get responses, but he is the best player on this particular deck by far, I just understand it and can explain things like how to play it and other similar deck links. I apologize if I insulted you in any way.

Starsky2814 Thanks for your kind words, you always cheer me up!

Maybe try and make this deck at around $120?

Would be cool

Mattybeatts, currently I think Chromium Voltron Budget (<$150) is the current closest list to that budget ($146), though Protean Chromium, Elder Dragon (Budget Edition) is only ~$158, so you have those two, and was made by Starsky2814!

What do you think about Cleansing Meditation?

August 18, 2018 3:01 a.m.

Starsky2814 says... #7

toestie, I think Cleansing Meditation is the idea enchantment removal for this kind of deck. For those who need to handle heavy enchantments, I definitely recommend.

Starsky2814 & toestie, because it does actually destroy our enchantments, then returns them back if we have threshold, you can reattach auras, flicker effects like Sage's Reverie, but sadly Eidolon of Countless Battles won't stay an Aura if it was, and some other minor downnsides. I like the card a fair bit, however since it isn't an instant and doesn't hit artifacts, cards like Return to Dust are generally better in my opinion, if you need more answers.

SynergyBuild, I agree with Return to Dust. If I were to add any removal spells it would most likely be spot removal at instant speed, but for casual play, if anyone were in the need of mass removal then Cleansing Meditation would fit the bill for that. It has its pros and cons and it shouldn’t be too difficult to hit threshold. Eidolon of Countless Battles would be a casualty as an aura, of course, but he’ll return as a fatty of his own at least.

Why not just play zur and tutor for chromium. Zur is used earlier in the combo so wouldnt you rathar tutor for chromium? Is this am " i dont want to get hated out" thing?

August 28, 2018 2:18 p.m.

Starsky2814 says... #13

SMASHER101, Zur the Enchanter, is a great commander option, but the reason this is a Chromium, the Mutable deck, is because my playgroup decided we would all build new decks, featuring an elder dragon, from the M19 set, as our commander and build a deck around the dragon of our choice. Mine is the obvious choice. I can’t help that it so happens to play Zur the Enchanter a lot.

Any thoughts on adding Geode Golem to this deck to help pop out Chrom that much faster? With a colorless CMC of 5 that seems like it would an easier target to arrange with Esper ramp.

mowservision says... #16

Would you drop a tutor for Lim-Dul's Vault? 2cmc ain't bad, and it works well with Tunnel Vision.

Goodra_Hugs says... #17

So this deck seems quite powerful, and fun to play; but my playgroup usually needs more interaction to stay in the game. Are the control builds with countersplells and oblivion ring effects still good decks? Have you played them, and do they function similarly to the base deck, just with more options for interaction?

Ooh, haven't responded in a bit, here are some late responses:

Metachemist, while I like the idea Geode Golem needing a whole turn, being five mana, not having the flash that Chromium does, and being highly prone to removal makes it a bit of a lackluster choice, the idea is good though, tell us if you have any other ideas!

supercaptainpow, Lim-Dul's Vault is a great tutor, but paying life, costing 2 mana, and taking two colors makes it less appealing than our current tutors, but I like the Tunnel Vision synergy. I'll test it out, seems plausible.

Goodra_Hugs, the control varients are more aggro-control, still being invested in being the proactive deck at the table, while also trying to disrupt the opposition. I would argue for it to be at least equal with this varient.

dizzierabit Estrid's Invocation doubles the best enchantment, which I would argue isn't very good. With many cheap auras, it costs too much, like Edge of Divinity, and with many enchantments, doubling them isn't useful, like Omniscience, Phyresis, Necropotence, etc. so I doubt it deserves a spot.

Don't forget you can exile it every upkeep. So if you need some extra draw you have it, then later game if you want to one-shot someone you've got the option. You may be right, but the continued flexibility is so good.

SynergyBuild says... #22

Yeah, but this is a voltron-aggro list, going late game it may be better, but with this deck, and sweepers prevalent, late game can be a death-sentence more than that card being any good.
