I like the theme of the deck, but I feel the amount of ramp is unnecessary. Also unsure of what you're using Cackling Counterpart for.

Might go for something like this...

24 Land

4 Terminus or Supreme Verdict otherwise you're gonna get reamed by aggro.

4 Think Twice

3 Chromatic Lantern if you feel you need mana fixing. If not, Abrupt Decay or Ultimate Price .

That's with cutting Counterpart, Path, Realms and a Syncopate. Could run Thragtusk maybe in place of the board wipe. Watch them kill it off, get a 3/3. Exile it, make a token and gain 5 more life.

The Cackling Counterpart is another means of getting a Phantasm token. The ramp is to help you play the parts you need faster although I was actually thinking that I was gonna take out Boundless Realms since I realized ramping that way pulls more cards out of my deck which leaves more cards in my opponents deck after the Spiral if the game goes that way. Because of this I was thinking that even though it's normally looked on as a bad thing, this deck may actually be better as a 65 or possibly 70 card deck with a couple tutors to find the key components. You really only need Seance and card:Jarad's Orders and you are good to go.

Oh yeah, cutting the Realms also makes the mana curve top out at 5 mana.

Thoughts on Forbidden Alchemy ? Could help you dump Phantasm or grab card:Jarad's Orders faster.

I still feel the board wipe is almost a necessity though. Most aggro decks around these days can kill by turn 5-6.

Sorry, I did mean to add before that I think you are right about the board wipes. Although, I think Terminus would be a bad idea Psychic Spiral . Cyclonic Rift would probably be the better option even with the 7 cmc overload cost. I also think that card:Alchemist's Refuge might be worthwhile as you could (with the right mix of land) play Laboratory Maniac and use a Phantasm token during your upkeep and then win during your draw step.

Yeah you could probably run 1-2 card:Alchemist's Refuge without really hurting the mana base. If you think Terminus won't fit definitely go with Supreme Verdict . Rift is nice with the overload but probably coming too late. Plus if it's just for stalling it's only buying you a turn before at least half those creatures come back, unless they're tokens.

At least Verdict takes care of anything that's not coming back from the graveyard.

I was thinking the Verdict was a given and that the Rift would be better than Terminus as a secondary removal spell. I also have been thinking about the fact that if Mirror-Mad Phantasm get's exiled this deck has no other win con. To cover this I was thinking that Kessig Wolf Run would be good to add along with a couple Steam Vents . That was if you have to beat down with a Laboratory Maniac you can put some power behind it. I think I may need to also work in 2 Ethereal Armor s to give first strike so that it can live through more than 1 attack.
