FNM Results. —May 14, 2016

So I took this to FNM unfinished. I forgot I didn't have like 1/3 of the cards so I just improvised to the best of my abilities, and my abilities were apparently pretty good cuz I went 3-1 (Soooo close to 4-0) or 7-3 to finish 2nd overall. This deck even swept the Gameday champion and his Gameday winning deck.

Faerie Miscreant x4, Harbinger of the Tides, Void Shatter x3, Clash of Wills x1 didn't make it in because I either didn't have it, or I misplaced them.

Sidisi's Faithful x3, Spell Shrivel x3, Silumgar's Scorn x1, Engulf the Shore x2 made it in instead.

I think I like Sidisi's Faithful more than Faerie Miscreant because it becomes a spell late game, and opening hand drop a big butt in, and keep swinging with a Mirror Mockery to bounce things. A mini-Reflector Mage if you will.

The rest worked alright, just counter spells. I like Engulf the Shore in the main because it's bounced Ojutai after he swung in and lost hexproof. It's a fun card, and works really nicely against token decks.

Game Breakdowns:

3-1 overall record

2-1 against Orzov Enchantments

This was actually a buddy of mine, it was weird because he stomped me for a cool hour before FNM with this exact deck. I just had to make sure Ojutai hit the field and then hold onto counter spells. Was grindy af, but I came out on top.

2-0 against U/G Eldrazi ramp

This guy was newer to magic, but he had a solid grasp on how to play. He just didn't have removal, his whole thing was to ramp with mana dorks and get Eldrazi out, but I bounced his big ones or countered them everytime he tapped out. He was cool with an alirght deck. If he develops an early game with that deck he would win against me.

2-0 against the Gameday champ and his Gameday Cryptolith Rites/CoCo deck

Like his deck wasn't bad, and I don't think he was a bad player, but I was not worried throughout any of the games. He gave me a scare when he flipped a Westvale Abbey  Flip to block my Ojutai, but I immediately bounced it on my 2nd main by dropping in a Reflector Mage and established the game back in my favor.

1-2 against R/B something or other

I myself am fairly new to magic so I don't have a good grasp on what to call all the decktypes lol. His whole thing was Kolaghan's Command and burn/black control on the lower end, Sin Prodder and Goblin Dark-Dwellers for the mid, and at the top was Chandra, Flamecaller. It was a good deck, he won that night. It was close for 2 games. I don't wanna blame mana screwing, but played the first game with 4 lands for most of it, and the last one I couldn't draw any land at all lol. It happens, who's to say I wouldnt have still lost. Good games, I had fun :D

Stitched Mangler makes Mirror Mockery pretty funny.
