@Vigilante013 I completely agree, not so much on the last comment, when you read/reply to over 200 comments you would understand why I reply the way I do to peoples critiques. With the huge saturation of removal, I have been trying to add some more protection to the deck update, and there are more apparent answers in the update. The most prevalent thing is the lack of card draw.

As for where the hate is and blocking me Vigilante013, I'm sorry if I offended you but in the end I have my own opinions and not a single user who comments has to make the deck exactly the same way as I did. Which there have been many alternate versions.

I really think you need more lands. No standard deck should be below 20-21 lands ever. Yes, I know that the average CMC is very low, but 18 lands is not enough.

@Pavolo85 18 lands is enough, You don't have to run 18 lands if you don't want too, but if you run more than 18 lands in this deck you will find yourself flooded most games. I have calculated simple probability of drawing lands and have tested this deck for 4 months. What proof do you have that 18 lands is not enough aside from your personal opinion?

Well, of course I was giving my own opinion. I have playtested your deck and I suffered from mana shortage quite frequently. And since you ask, aside from my personal opinion, there are several MTG articles on the internet regarding mana and number of lands. If you check them, you will find that not even the most aggressive decks should play less than 20 lands. And those decks are monocolor, while yours has two colors. Again, these are just personal opinions from different people.

Aside from this, I like the overall idea behind this deck.

Yeah the biggest issue I had with this deck is the fragile nature, which may be addressed in the Heroic update. The answer really seems to be "beat them before they can remove you" which I get... but is fairly difficult to pull off in the standard meta right now.

The card draw is the big issue as you load up your heroic creatures with spells only to have an empty hand once they remove your main attacker. Then what?

I think this deck is great though and I have had a ton of fun playing it. Amazing how you make something that people admire so much only to have them sh*t talk you later for defending what you have put together, right?

If anyone who plays this deck has constructive additions to a SIDEBOARD discussion I would be happy to hear it. Often it's not about making the perfect deck it's about making the perfect starting shell... playtesting the current archetypes in the standard meta and sharing some of that information may be more helpful than b*tching at the guy who thought of making this deck in the first place IMO.

+1 for you.I tested the deck in 10 games. The other player played a "Heartless Summoning"-Combo Deck, Myr Combo Deck, Hexproof Deck and a Blue Control Deck.6:4 for me. I just lost cuz of the unlimited damage combos. But he lost 10+ life, each game. That Deck is pretty nice, I love the speed. I ordered the additional cards for your Heroic Leader Tournament Deck. So I'll test that on monday against the same decks.Just one question: I'm thinking about adding: Ajani, Caller of the Pride . What do you think about Ajani?

How would you adapt this to Nyx? :D

I will start by saying I run a mono-white heroic/token deck. Let me just say, this deck blew me away. The synergy between the cards is amazing and it must have taken alot to figure out how to apply everything together. I was thinking of adding blue or red to my deck and this has definitely swayed me towards blue (that and the fact I never have enough cards in my hand, the drawing/scrying is very useful)+1 without a doubt, and if you ever get the spare time please have a look at my deck and give me a few pointers. (i forgot how to add links but it is http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/10-06-14-for-glory/)

Love the idea, I've taken it and elements from other heroic decks on the web and made my own. I think one of the biggest problems this deck has is with discards. Most of my friends run inquisitions and thoughtseize, wrenching my plans on turn one. I find a Judge's familiar prevents this quite well, buying you that crucial extra turn to get out the cornerstones of this deck. Of course you already have swan song, but I just don't like the idea of a 2/2 flyer poking me every turn while I buff my ground forces. Additionally you have the benefit of being able to bioshift to a flying creature, probably saving you the U meant for aqueous form for a charm or counter.

I am currently running a variant of this deck. minus the phalanx leaders and 2 more fabled heros. I run 4 gods willing which I think helps alot and dispel in the sideboard is definately useful, it stops most removal and it counters counter spells. Mine isnt quite as fast but it still gets the job done. probably will take out 1 or 2 fabled heros for Ajani, Caller of the Pride though. He can end the game with -3

Crod says... #15

I've tried this deck without sideboard in a 4 player game. What caused trouble was 1) flying creatures 2) removals and 3) "all creatures able to block must do so..." which finally kills me, cause I had no chance to prevent the damage.

Has anybody some tips for a good sidedeck to make the deck better at multiplayer games or to address my problems?

w4rped says... #16

@CrodThis is not a multiplayer deck. This deck relies on combat tricks and runs out of those fast once you start to use them. With no way to reliably replenish your hand (especially in a multiplayer game) you will not have a strong showing. Oracle's Insight may be worth using if you want to continue using this in a multiplayer game.

Love this deck. +1. Great spells for targeting heroic creatures. Plus, this deck is only $18-$22 if you replace the shocklands with something cheaper(though it won't work as well).

I think Seachrome Coast might be be good instead of Hallowed Fountain because you will only really need it untapped if you control two or fewer lands.

Defiant Strike Refocus Valorous Stance Center Soul just a few ideas from the Khans block.

This deck has an immense problem with removal. I run a deck very similar, and I CONSTANTLY have trouble with my buddy's board wipe deck. What I found helps a great deal is to focus less on proccing Heroic and more on proccing rewards for your unblockable creatures. Not only that, there are creatures in standard right now that have innate protection. Prognostic Sphinx and Daxos of Meletis both have evasion as well as built-in rewards for attacking. By adding those, you can turn your attention towards cards that dodge removal/remove.

Detention Sphere works well in Azorius.

What can we do to make this build modern playable? Is there even a shot?

Wait you can exile a spell as it resolves and gain the counters from it? that seems like it doesn't work like that .-.

it does work like that though;)Nice deck!

I play the G/W variant. My advice is run an additional 3 targetable protection spells. Gods Willing doesn't protect from board wipes. Yes, a scry 1 helps. But compare that to an Ajani's Presence which is great later on, especially considering you don't flood the board.

S/B Brave the Elements is a nobo. Doesn't target.

forgot to mention that Ajani protects against wipes and things like Pyroclasm, where as Gods Willing just protects against things like pyroclasm.
