Do you think Chandra, Fire of Kaladesh  Flip could find a home here?

Hello plunkey!

Thanks for the suggestion.

I really like Chandra, she's very strong. But the other 3-drops spells on main deck has more sinergy (Sin Prodder and Incorrigible Youths)

I could replace some 2-drop spells to let Chandra in, but I'll need to use 1 more slot for another mountain.

Maybe it's a good ideia to use 2 Chandras on sideboard and use it against decks that can make too many blockers.

I'll change 2 Smash to Smithereens for 2 Chandras and make some tests with her on g2.

I absolutely love the mechanics of this deck. It makes amazing use of the discard feature. And lightning axe is one of the best one drops by far.

Thanks HellHound121296!

I love the discard mechanics too.

And Lightning Axe is really awsome.

NestorCoelho, I believe that sin prodder is going to be a game changer in this deck and all the new ones to come. It's giving red aggro an almost control aspect to this deck and that is enough to make people tuck their tail in and run. SOI is the most interesting with card ability because it's either I play this card and it damages you or throw it away and deal damage to you to then do the same again.

HellHound121296, yeah, i agree.

I thought tha Sin Prodder was a strong card card, but after testing it I realized that it is even stonger. I usually cast one of then around turn 4~5, and at this point of the game, most of the times my opponent is running out of life, so it gives me the card advantage to win the match. Also, the Menace is very great, as my opponents usually uses all the removals to deal with earlier threats, he'll stay on field, hitting every turn.

April 4, 2016 12:42 p.m.

NestorCoelho by then that is pretty much game, set, match. I know I waste a lot of removal against aggro decks. And if the openenet does like you said (or like I do LOL) it's that constant damage that makes this deck so great and the way it does deal damage makes it even better. It's moving at such a pase that your openenet could very well waist all of his removals or misplay cards under pressure like you said.

HellHound121296 totally agreed!

Tests made, Chandra is out!

She is too slow, so I don't want it in hand on early turns. And she does not cause a great impact on late game, so I don't want to draw her at top deck.

I considered to use as a side for 1-Thoughtness creatures, but in this case siding up 2 more Avacyn's Judgment works better.

Even so, thanks plunkey for the suggestion!

rubenjr, thanks for suggesting!

Goblin Dark Dwellers is completly out of my mana curve. I play only 3 lands an keep the others in hand as fuel for discard, so no way using it.

Matter Reshaper is a very strong card, but since I can't generate Colorless mana, I cannot cast him.

Zurgo sounds nice, but I prefer the other 1-drop creatures I'm using. Falkenrath Gorger makes it possible to other gorger or a ravenous bloodseeker with madness, wich is very good for me, and Village Messenger forces my opponent to make choices and also he puts more pressure than zurgo as he has menace and easyly flip on the early turns.

About the other suggestions:

As I run only 3 lands, I can't abuse of Lightning berserker ability, so he isn't very strong here.

And I really considered using the wolf, but it's not that easy activating delirium. I'll put 2 of them on sideboard and make some tests, he seems very strong!

What about Skin Invasion  Flip? It could be useful to dissuade the opponent from blocking one of your creatures or forcing an opponent's creature to attack into a block so you can kill it and gain a creature in the proccess

I'll make some tests! Thanks!

Is this deck similar to RDW with: Monastery Swiftspear Dragon FodderHordeling Outburst Foundry Street Denizen or is it different? The same playstyle I mean, or didnt you play that version?

April 7, 2016 10:53 a.m.

NestorCoelho says... #19

rubenjr I've played some FNMs on July/2015 using a RDW as you described. Many goblin tokens, Monastery Swiftspear, Zurgo, Foundry street and Trumpet Blast. Although both are Mono-R, there are some diferences in playstyle.

The older one was all about create as many tokens as you can and hit with trumpet blast, usually using direct damage in opponents life.

This deck is a little diferent. As it don't have that much creatures on the battlefield, I usually play the burn spells as creature removal to keep hitting with 1~3 creatures that are on the battlefield.

But there are some common points too, for exemple combining spells to trigger prowess and hit enormous amount of damage (eg. lightning axe discarting fiery temper + titan's strength. 5 damage on creature, 3 on player, 3 power buuf on a creature and 3 prowess trigger. Its 11 damage on turn 3 with a single abbot of keral keep.) It was possible to do something similar with the other deck: turn 1 zurgo, turn 2 Swiftspear + Titan's strength, + any 2 non creature spells on turn 3 .

More tests made.

Reckless bushwacker and Scourge Wolf are out.

I don't run many creatures at the same time and it's very hard to trigger delirium.

Filled up the main board with 2 more copies of Exquisite Firecraft and the side now have 4 Skin Invasion.

Does this deck hold up against top 8 decks, or didnt you play against them yet? Really like RDW, but is it still as good at is was a year ago?

April 11, 2016 7:37 a.m.

NestorCoelho says... #22

RDW are always strong in the first month after rotation. Maybe this one is not as good as atarka-red was, but surely it's strong enough to win some FNM, and that is my purpose.

I've tested it against many GW and Bant company and I won 90% of the games without difficult.

Imo, SCGopen decks are just "old decks with new cards", wich means that people don't have access to all cards they want from the new collection, so they try to build the strongest deck with the old decks they have, and not the best deck they have in mind.

I don't think the top8 decks from scg will be the top8 decks of the PT, for exemple. And I really think that we will see a RDW in Pro-Tour's top 8.

Thanks man! Really clear, I will make this deck. Did you consider Insolent Neonate ? Its pretty good if you think about it.

April 11, 2016 8:02 a.m.

NestorCoelho says... #24

=D

I'm glad you liked the deck!

About Neonate, he's realy good, but I didn't made any tests with him yet.

He's not agressive like Village Messenger, but has some advantages.

As I usualy cast 2 or more spells a turn, maybe I use it replacing the Messenger.

Also, he is a Vampire, so gains madness with falkenrath gorger on field.

April 11, 2016 8:09 a.m.

rubenjr says... #25

I will probably add 2 neonates and cut 2 messengers. Keep it up :D
