Could I offer an additional requirement? In addition to the random commander, add two random cards that work in that color identity and use them in a subtheme. This way, if someone hits Atraxa, Praetors' Voice or Kenrith, the Returned King or another popular commander, it's not quite so easy to just copy a deck.

I got Lovisa Coldeyes. The easy way to go here is Warrior tribal, with some interesting Barbarians and Berserkers to fill it out. Brighthearth Banneret, Kargan Intimidator, and Arni Brokenbrow will probably all find a home here. Give it some Viking thematic love and lean in hard to Ice Age, Coldsnap, and Kaldheim.

If I add two random cards, I got Extraplanar Lens and Trumpet Blast. Trumpet blast goes for go-wide aggro, so that's kind of where this deck wants to be. Lens could add a subtheme around ramp, but I'm going to go with Mountains matter and add Koth of the Hammer, Siege of Towers, and Earth Servant.

On a sidenote, I imagine we'll get a un-blue (WBRG) commander somewhere in the future to combine all these forced combat monstrosities.

Also: The Oaths are a cycle? Didn't know that.

Regarding Karazikar, Bloodthirsty Blade is awesome, obviously. When building Thantis, I started with some combat tricks that either grant deathtouch or turn the attacker into a glass cannon (Auger Spree) to make multi-kills in every combat more frequent. Trumpet Blast maybe? Zagras, Thief of Heartbeats is great in attacky decks, and I imagine that Karazikar will include some party-relevant types by default without even trying. You could play into granting creatures to opponents, but that might lead too far. Disrupt Decorum is obvious, and I really like the new Hellish Rebuke.

Coordinated Assault , Invigorated Rampage , Nahiri's Stoneblades , and a few that care about attacking creatures, no matter who controls them, like Trumpet Blast , but you'd need to combo in combat, those won't work with The Akroan War .

But nothing that does it for all creatures your opponents control, as far as I could find.

I don't apear to have Lightning Bolt , is Shock and Lightning Strike decent replacements? For Act of Treason , should I replace it with Volley Veteran ?

I will replace 2 of the 4 Expedite cards with Trumpet Blast . The other 2 Act of Treasons, I might keep. I kind of like them in the deck.

Walking Corpse could be donned by the Shocks, and the Lightning Strikes can replace Corpseweft , Abnormal Endurance and a Dread Wanderer .

I will try and get some of those cards you recommended, like Goblin Bomb or Goblin Bushwhacker.

-2 Mountain -1 Arcane Encyclopedia -4 Trumpet Blast +3 Skirk Prospector +4 The Flame of Keld . Reasons Skirk Prospector are just Mountain that ramp. Arcane Encyclopedia is just bad. 6 mana draw a card and 9 mana draw 2 cards are both unplayable. Use The Flame of Keld as a combo Trumpet Blast and Arcane Encyclopedia . Please comment on my mono-green stompy list.

Nice deck ! I agree on previous comment, Lightning Bolt is mandatory and should come in full set.

As said by Kjartan, Crusade is not modern legal and even if you don't seem to care much, you have options like Trumpet Blast .

In my opinion you should also run a second Gideon, Ally of Zendikar if you really want to play with it.

Finaly, Gisela, Blade of Goldnight is a good card but I'm not sure you will get any chance to play it. When exactly do you have seven mana to spare ?

With any deck that runs three or more colors, I always run some Evolving Wilds or Terramorphic Expanse , which is the same thing. Might be useful for your mana base. Also, you might to run some power-boost like Trumpet Blast , along with either cards like Cosmotronic Wave , basically, this deck has a lot of potential to be more aggressive. Also maybe some removal like Doom Blade or Murder . Just my thoughts!
