I don't know about you but I have never really had great experiences with acidic slime, as it is pretty overcosted for its effect. I really would recommend replacing it with Beast Within, as neither have any synergy with the deck, but beast within is just strictly better in mana cost and the fact that it hits creatures. I feel like acidic slime was good back in like 2012, but these days it isn't very efficient for what it does.

Its a blocker, which this deck is already low on, with the dissuasive ability of Deathtouch. That's the main reason why its here. Plus with the deck's CMC as low as it is, the higher cost of slime doesn't hurt that much and I have a bunch of them waiting for a home somewhere.

Beas Within's an amazing card, to be sure.

Upon more testing, Muddle the Mixture puts in a ton of work!!! Able to fetch Mesmeric Orb, Thassa's Oracle, Isochron Scepter, AND/OR Dramatic Reversal. Because of it I have also added in Bloom Tender which can go infinite with cards like Freed from the Real. Also Torment of Hailfire which may ultimatly replace Villainous Wealth all together.

Would Earthcraft be a good addition?

KylerStar Torment of Hailfire is loads better- I simply have more fun with Wealth, lol.

efk241 It would work, though Earthcraft shines best when used as a combo piece or in a Token deck. Its definitely worth a test and/or a spot on a more competitive list though.

efk241 Earthcraft is definitely a thought. I'm running Winter Orb in my deck and may make it worth re adding Back to Basics

Thanks for the replies, what I like about Earthcraft is that it can activate the turtle stax lord as soon it comes into play(avoiding summoning sickness). Maybe a slot for Squirrel Nest could be spared then too :)
