Cipher (Then you may exile this spell card encoded on a creature you control. Whenever that creature deals combat damage to a player, its controller may cast a copy of the encoded card without paying its mana cost.)

Depending on the flavor of "worst" you're looking for:

A lot of people tend to misinterpret Regenerate, which is probably why it got removed. Drudge Skeletons

I think Cipher and Soulshift had potential, they just didn't get any good cards, topping out at "decent" or "usable in the right deck." Trait Doctoring, Kami of Lunacy

Sweep has only four cards, and all of them are pretty weak, and not worth the cost of returning lands to your hand. Charge Across the Araba

Radiance, the original Boros mechanic in Ravnica, is awkward to use offensively and underwhelming defensively, leaving it without any good use. It has a focus on mono-color that was out of place in its home set and undesirable in any current Constructed format. Wojek Embermage

Dazard on Izzet - Cipher Deck

I am reanimating this deck and made some changes. I swapped Last Thoughts with Trait Doctoring. So instead of that low 4 mana spell i have a quick "cipher one drop" that can also fix my mana base.

dropped the two Niv-Mizzets, because they weren't a real finisher after all. i added Sentinel Tower and Firemind's Research instead which support my overall cipher theme better.

Dragonshift for some (defensive or offensive) suprises, Mizzium Mortars for some boardwipes.

What do you think?

Lord_of_Cardboard I can definitely say you've opened me up to a new type of EDH deck. I've occasionally seen the "change text of one thing with another" type of effect used in funny jank decks. Who knew it could be efficiently used as an infinite mana combo. I'll definitely work on this list because I like Momir Vig along most of the dorks and Trait Doctoring abilities are quite cheap. Most lists I see are CEDH that run crazy rocks and cards like Gaea's Cradle, but I could tone it down enough to make it reasonable. Just ignore my land bases because I like to bling them out.

that wouldn't work because Iona doesn't have any color words or mention any basic land type. theres no text for Trait Doctoring to replace.

No, you can not. The chosen color is not part of the text of Iona, Shield of Emeria, so you can not change it with Trait Doctoring.

If I resolve Iona, Shield of Emeria and name black, could my opponent, on his turn, cast Trait Doctoring, and change the colour to something else until the end of turn, or not?

Jeez, that's a difficult one to justify. Okay, so, based on Grixis, I can see that.

I think that adequately justifies Izzet Deathtouch. I can legally be played in EDH, btw bc Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, as well as Grixis Illusionist, which would certainly be reprinted along side this beauty. Dream Thrush could actually be with it in a flying matters deck. A fun card in stax, Illusionary Terrain (that plus Urborg or Blood Moon can be rather fun).

Also, Realmwright and Trait Doctoring could finally have use (I know they have some use, but this'd be another.

mynameisfifi tbh I wasnt sold on Shifting Sky/Wash Out either, but just making a list of things to consider.

A more interesting include I stumbled on is Chill, and more likely Douse (which would give reason to stick Trait Doctoring back in (although this may step on the toes of the Counterbalance engine a bit).
